It was very jarring to get from playing Inquisition for one hundred odd hours to go back to DA2 and its manner of displaying loot. I might be wrong, but it appeared to me that Inquisition changed the highlighting of loot to make the scenery have greater realism. I really don't mind the sparkling yellow lootable things of Origins and DA2. In fact, loot is much easier to see in Origins and DA2.
I would prefer to loot bodies than hard to see little beige bags. The occasional bloody red mess of some corpses in DA2 were easy to see. (And the yellow glowing things help a fair amount, too.) I find I have to be almost on top of the bags to see them and sometimes they blend in with their surroundings far too well a great deal of the time. Lots of pressing the search button. (And the pinging sound of loot gets irritating after a while.)
Compared to Origins, DA2 and Inquisition seem to have less descriptions, or no descriptions, attached to loot. The little blurbs on weapons and things were funny or interesting. I found it also aided immersion to have a little history on an object, or a description of how dirty and filthy something looked.
