Hi first time poster, long time lurker.

So I decided to play the DLC Pinnacle Satiation, because why not. So I decide to try a hunt mission because i'm generally good at those in any game I play and well I honestly have no idea whats going on (whether its me just generally sucking or a bug) So I accepted the "mission" and was dropped into the simulator. Noticing that I have a timer I decide to leg it over to where the enemies spawn but the thing is the time limit of five seconds counts down to zero before I can even get into position or fire off a single shot.

So basically this leaves me wondering if it is a design choice, a bug or me just sucking at Mass Effect.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds to me like you just had a glitch.  Have you re-tried the mission?  Does it keep doing the same short countdown?

Hello and thank you for replying.

I tried restarting the same mission three times and still had the weird 5 second count down. I did play three of the other trials and had no such problems, other than the cut scene before entering the mission lagging.

My advice would be to delete Pinnacle Station and not bother with it.

I far prefer the combat in the first game and I still think that Pinnacle Station is terrible.

Which is absolutely bizarre to me as it was made by Demiurge Studios who did the awesome PC port of the first game.

I'm not sure I can delete Pinnacle Station, as it came with the game when I brought it off Origin for $5.

I do agree that the combat in the game (though a little weird/clunky at times) is better in the actual game itself than at Pinnacle Station. Yeah, it is bizarre that the DLC is weirdly coded.

You have literally five seconds to find and kill something.  However, they always pop up in the same spot so you should know where to look next time.  Each kill increases the counter time.  You have to get something like 35 kills to get the top spot.  It's not the greatest DLC but I had to win it anyway.

Oh I see, well that's kind of a silly design choice. Since all three times I tried I could barely get into a position to fire off a single shot, let alone get to where they spawn.

I might just skip the DLC anyway, as it was rather lame.

Just go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect\DLC or where you have the game installed and delete the 'DLC_Vegas' folder. That's all you need to do to get rid of Pinnacle Station.

Be aware though that you won't be able to continue any saves that were created when the DLC was still installed (or I believe use them for a New Game Plus).

Personally, I find that a small price to play to be rid of it.
