So long, and thanks for all the fish. It's been great talking random stuff, Mass Effect and a bit of Dragon Age with you all and playing MP with some of you.

I've set sail on the lifeboat known as bsn.boards.net where I hope to see many more of you. For those who won't be joining us, here's a turkey Kramer waving goodbye.

but it is weird right now isn't it?

It is like standing around a dead horse waiting for someone to officially acknowledge "yeah, it's dead, nothing more to see here, let's go"

Omg, this is so spot-on

Wasn't sure I would post after this long, but what the heck. It's been years. Loved Dragon Age Origins, quit posting after Awakening and became a lurker. I want to say thank you to so many posters, but mainly to the modders that made DA Origins such a joy to play. Ejoslin for her many mods. Charsen, who has been absent many years. Thank you so much. You made my game so much more enjoyable.

I'm an old gamer, mainly mmorpg's until Dragon Age Origins, and I became too impatient and got tired of raiding and camping. I tried Dragon Age 2, and was sad for what it could have been. I was a mod for Maxis years ago, and knew in my heart what to expect. Old news, eh?

Although I quit posting, I read avidly every day. I've enjoyed all your posts. I don't find you toxic. A forum is made up of many people. The variety keeps it moving. It's what makes us log on. I've enjoyed all of your posts, and I will miss the reading of this forum immensely. I won't begin to mention all of you, because I've enjoyed most of the posts here. You are all talented and worthy, take that with you as we move on. Continue to post what you truly think. That is something that cannot be removed by a forum wipe. I look forward to seeing your posts on the user forums that are being made by the the lovely people of this community. Best wishes to all of you, and I hope you have the time of your lives!

I've been waiting for someone to post this song, Eislyn, and you're the first. It's very appropriate. It reminds me of when I left a beloved job with many beloved employees, and it has been in my mind all day today, as well.

It just seemed fitting.  I hate to think of people sad over this stuff.  Stuff happens.  You have to move on.  Sometimes it's better, eh?  ;)  Life is a dance, or so they say.

Thanks everyone!

Really appreciate all the people who took the time to post builds, guides, tips, etc, and generally just answer lame questions from average gamers like me!  See you around the unofficial forums.

I've been thinking about what would my Last Goodbye look like. Not sure yet, but this is it.

My first BW forum was old (like REALLY OLD) NwN forum, back in 2003. I've been a lurker (mostly), but I loved the game and it was good to see the other players, mods, discussions. We've had our own small LAN server based on the 'Nordock' (if I remember the name correctly). Then there was KOTOR.
My life had changed many times and in many ways since then. I've got a husband, we've got two kids, I've played SWTOR, ME and DA, but I still love the old games. Those non-EA titles are going to lose most of it, I guess. And its those long-time fans which were hurt the most by the descision. From what I know, NwN community had packed most of their things, and BG fans were heading for the Beamdog's. I'm glad for them.

Somehow, even now part of me does not want to believe that it's all over, like tomorrow in the morning we're going to see a huge banner with something like 'welcome to our new forums, sorry for the trick'... Know it's not going to happen.

I want to thank all the BW stuff who had time to stay with us here. Community-manager is very likely to be on top of the 'sh!ttiest jobs in the world' list, but you did best you could. I guess.

All the people I've met here - it's been a nice ride. Some of you had already followed to the other side, some might follow. I know many are there, I also know that even with the healing time it will never be the same again, it'll be different. We're becoming the unofficial fans now, you know.

In the evening I'm going to light a candle, a small token. Someone else might follow the idea. Somehow the image of many little candles lighting up around the world makes me feel less awfull. But it's just me.

Don't know what to add.
Going to repost this one, I guess. If there's anything left for me to express - it's in there.

Having just pulled an all-nighter, waiting for the hammer to drop, I felt like dropping in for a third comment. I'll be a bit more brief this time.

I talked to a lot of people tonight. Some were acquaintances whom I've somewhat known for a bit. Many were people I'd never before met, and may never meet again. I had nothing but great interactions tonight. Something that people tend to overlook, especially online, is that you get from an interaction pretty much what you put into it.

I reached out to people all night long, commiserating on our sorry luck, sharing stories, directing them to the various life boat resources, and inviting them to my preferred places. In many ways, it was the best of my BSN experiences condensed into one night.

As we head to our various new homes, hopefully we can do so with a refreshed appreciation for the value of community. Even the toughest nuts have cracked, in recent days, admitting just how much this place means to them. Remember that as you settle into your new homes, and try to maintain that appreciative, welcoming spirit that typifies the forums, at present.

I'm very sleepy, and maybe a bit addled. The above is likely riddled with typos, but it comes from the heart. I'll miss you BSN. You were the best.

And I wanted to thank you for reaching out to others! Because that's what makes forums worthwhile.

And thanks to everyone else who did the same.

And to those who provided feedback and raised their voices to try and save the forum.

And to those who worked hard to create new communities and direct people to them.

And to those who were watching silently from the sidelines.

Everyone is awesome.

I wanted this to end on a positive note.

Big Sticks and Big Bananas. Now give me all of your 6k likes before the forums end please :)

You've all been great, although why we are saying thanks confuses me. To this day I can't listen to the music of ME3 (the last bit when they're on that planet) without getting depressed/sad. I've had some good times and some bad times on here. Like the time my post about the keep got deleted because the person who had posted before me was talking about the leaks. (Actually that was the only bad time until the forum ending and I got a vw from you know who)

Enjoy some trance :)

Dear BSN,

I woke up early this morning having had a dream about writing you this letter.

I'll remember the good times I had, debating small parts of Dragon Age lore, the help you offered me over the years when I got stuck (especially trying to beat that Harveseter on nightmare), and all of the wonderful people you introduced me to.  We had bad days, like when the Miranda fans started a civil war.  And sure, it got weird sometimes, I mean, I think the entire internet knows about how Tali's sweat tastes now.  But there were moments of wonder in there too, like Fast Jimmy's song parody thread.  And you always forgave me for drunk-posting.

I still remember being surprised when a fellow poster I was friendly with mentioned she lived in my state.  When I PMed her to find out where she was from, not only did she live in my town, we went to the same high school and she lived next door to my parents.  We still go to movies and eat sushi together.  And that wouldn't have been possible without you.

I know we've drifted apart some over the past year.  I wish it didn't have to come to this, but you've made your wishes clear, and I respect your decision.  Know that even though I didn't always show it in the right way, I always cared about you.  I'll miss you, but you'll still be in my heart.

Best,

Leigh
