I've just spend the last 30 minutes going in circles trying to get an account setup here and still not sure its entirely sorted. I have a Bioware account and when I first came here I signed in with it and finished creation only I wasn't given an option to pick a new username. I figured this was a bug and deleted the account here to try again but before I did so I saw a post further down about linking to an EA master account first.

So I made, and linked to, an EA account on the Bioware site then came back here and logged in with my Bioware id/pass and got an error page of "error 0 in key 2", tried a refresh and it then tells me my email is in use (same e-mail with both accounts). Clearing cookies then logging in via the EA e-mail got me this account that i'm posting on but at no point was I asked to "prove" who I was on the Bioware site to validate my Kithayri handle so i'm trying to find out if this is an error or if the account link earlier bypassed this step and everything is setup correctly this time?

The system is setup so you can create a new account here provided you have an EA account; you do not need an account on BioBoards (the old forum). If you do have an account on BioBoards, you can sign in with that when registering here and some of the information will be moved over automatically (you will not be able to pick a new username this way). When logging in from the character creator you should use your EA account, which should have the same e-mail address as you have on this site (but not necessarily BioBoards).

Almost. Looks like you can sign up directly here even if you don't have an EA account.

Thats the issue, I did sign up in here with my EA account and it gave me my Bioware accounts named (different ID on the EA account), but I didn't get the part mentioned in the FAQ about having to prove your bioware ID to re-use your screen name. My assumption is this is because my EA account was linked on the Bioware site first but I just want to confirm this (especially as this account is presumably where all the data/account access for the DLC's will go, want to make sure it sorted properly).

Oh, right, I remember that. The point was that you'd sign in with your EA account (I think?), then select your old username. When the system tells you that name is reserved, input the password you use on the old forums. Then the account will be migrated. I don't remember the process exactly but it's something like that.



You'll want to make sure that this account's e-mail address is the one you use in the game is the one you use on your EA account.

Yes, if you link your EA account to your Bioware account over at the old site it automatically picks up your Bioware account name over here. If you have your Bioware forum name on this site then everything is linked up properly.
