Both Origins and DA2 had a fair amount of involvement with the alienage. You could play as a city elf and go into the Denerim alienage in Origins, and Merrill lived in the Kirkwall alienage and quests were located there in DA2. (Shianni, Soris and the like were also great characters.) From what I can recall, Inquisition mentions alienages in both conversation and text but you don't really see the alienages. And the Inquisitor has limited interaction with city elves.
It would be great to have city elves and alienages appear in DA4.
