I am one of those unfortunate souls who bought the game online in hope of having access to it on the day the game is released. I have had nothing but frustration and anger in the past 3 days. This is what happened to me:


I bought the game on D2D on Monday. Downloaded the game and installed it but near the end of installation I got an error message saying unable to install Adobe Air. Then a window came up saying installation of mass effect 2 was successful. I clicked on the launch icon and the menu came up. I went to config sections, changes to full screen and then went to play the game and clicked on the play icon. 

when it went to release lock section it crashed and a "awc.dll load failed" message showed up and thus my story began. I re-downloaded the game TWICE and installed it 3 more times just to have the same result. I tried to install Adobe air from the website separately but I can't install it at all. it always crashes on XP. I have no clue why but it does. There is no way on earth I can even run it. 

Then when it came to this I decided to format my partition and install windows 7. yes, sounds radical but I wanted to play the game. so it took me about 3 hours to install the windows and all the programs, update everything, re-download the game (for the third time) and install it.


This time everything went smooth. amazingly fast and smooth BUT a new problem appeared. I install everything, and it even finishes the release lock section and then...

Nothing happens. I don't even get a black screen or an error message. nothing happens. as if i didn't even click on any icons.

I did all the suggested methods that were written on the forum but none worked for me. i clicked on the EAcore icon to try to run it before i click on mass effect play icon again and weirdly it only stays for about 10 seconds in my Task manager( i opened it to see if it runs at all). i was curious to why it doesn't stay longer but couldn't find anything.

So in XP it crashes and in 7 it doesn't load at all. i don't know what to do anymore. i reinstalled it 2 more times ( a total of 9 times for the game) and it still doesn't work. My windows 7 is clean and fast, i have disabled all the antiviruses and firewalls and still no difference.

anybody has a similar issue in 7? i have seen people saying black screen appears when they try to run the game  but I don't even get that! I get nothing. My game refuses to load or do anything. When I click on play from the menu, it stays in windows. 

Please someone give me a way out of this other than turning off the computer or uninstalling the game permanently!

Intel Core i7 920
Ram 6 GB
Windows 7 64 bit
ATI 4870 
Creative SB Audigy 2

In Windows 7 install and run as administrator, get used to doing this for all games and programs. You can access it by right clicking the ME2 setup .exe and selecting "Run as administrator".

I did my friend I did! I am going to find a program to record about 15 seconds of my time in windows so you know what I mean. I am in Win 7 now and tried it again to same effect. The menu comes up, I click on play, it shows a little circle on my pointer meaning windows is doing something and then it goes away and I keep looking at my background.

 one question, is "EAcoreserver" suppose to look like that? does it have an actual icon? It looks weird to be honest so just wanted to make sure it is installed correctly.

You have given no details on exactly what your problem is, what you system specs are, or what version of the game you have. You havent even gone along and registered the game on the forums to let us know you even have a legit version, and not some torrented, pirated copy.
Register the game, then read the "Read First", and post with the requierd information.
