So I went to chat with Jacob asa FemShep, purposfully picking middle of the road responces, as I don't want to cheat. Add her I am sounding all flirty. "You can't put me off that easy, Mr. Taylor?" Have I flirted by accident? I go like getting to know my squad mates, but if this is going to turn into auto-romance, maybe I shouldn't. The only way to put off Ash or Kaiden was to be a b*****, and I hated that I seemed like I had lead them on, and then smacked them for following my lead. Does this interaction work the same way? Will I need to avoid Thane too?
Am I Flirting?

With Thane it couldn't have been more obvious since you get a dialogue option literally saying: "I want you, Thane". Hilarious.
With Jacob, I was careful in choosing my options so that I didn't inadvertently flirt. Though it doesn't help that you start each conversation in a coy voice saying "I just want to 'talk' for a bit (tee hee)".

Even if you take the paragon route, there's one option that's basically a "So you're single?" and if you follow the branch from there the romance starts, if you skip that one you're fine.
And even if you do, you have the option of going back to any of them and saying you just want to be friends.

I was just gonna make a thread on this, I really don't want to flirt with Jacob, but for some reason my Femshep keeps doing it, the dialogue on the screen and what is said is like a minefield of innuendo.
I remember how easy it was to block Kaiden on one of your first missions out with "I saw her first." *Boom* he got the message.

Actually, even if you skip that line you can still end up there.
Made sure to skip that line the first time and when I talked to him again, suddenly they're both going on about how fraternization isn't an issue in Cerberus and how they can do whatever they want.I'm just sitting there going "NO NO NO, SHEPARD. YOU WERE JUST TALKING TO THANE, YOU WERE MAKING PLANS, YOU HUSSY!"

Huh, interesting. I'm having the same issue with my male Shepard and Jack. I want to remain faithful to Ash, and I was very careful to use middle-of-the road responses, made it clear to her that I am NOT interested in sex, and yet she still is obviously developing feelings for my Shep. I wouldn't mind a one-sided thing on her part, but now all my responses are either romancing-encouraging, or turning her down in a very jackassy way. Sigh. Guess I'll have to be a jackass. What happened to just wanted to get to know my crew on a platonic level?

Ugh - you ran into that too? It's like you get roadblocked with Jack. Any convo I can have with her now is "about us" and I'm like "NO!" - I'm with Tali you mook xD

Yup, I ran into that. I face-palmed when I saw the "about us" conversation option. 
And now after doing Miranda's personal quest and resolving things very well, she was a little flirty with my Shepard. I haven't had a chance to respond yet, but I hope I don't get pidgeonholed with her, too. <_<
My poor Shepard is going to be immensely sexually frustrated by the end of this game.

That bugged me. I had only chosen "neutral" options but every time I talked to him my Shepard sounds all flirty and gets that seductive smile. At the very end of the game after I had romanced Thane, only THEN did she drop the flirtatious attitude when I talked with Jacob. Up until then I hadn't thought they had even given female Shepard any non-flirty inquiring lines. Why didn't she sound this neutral earlier on?

I had two options while talking to Thane, one of which was clearly flirting. So I picked the other one, but then HE flirted instead. Meanwhile, every option I pick while talking to Jacob seems to come out as flirting as well. For my next playthrough I'll probably just be an ass to everybody except the one I want to romance.
