For those that have progressed further than I have, how important is it to get EVERY bit of resource off a planet? It seems there are quite a few "small" or "medium" peaks (only 2-4 square peak on the indicator) that don't give many resourcees. The "big" peaks tend to chagne color and give more like 1k+. Outside of Element Zero (which is pretty scarce so I hear) how important is it to probe all of the small/medium peaks for a planet? Are resources that big of a problem or is it easier to just hit the biggest peaks? I want to make sure I can get all the upgrades, but don't want to waste too much time since the Xbox scanner is pretty sluggish.
Thanks!
Scanning - just the big spikes?

I hear for all the stuff to upgrade you don't need much, i know for a fact i have scanned more than I need (200,000+ of everything and 40,000 of Element Zero) but I like scanning, as boring as it may be to some ppl lol

Do so... I was carefull and took some time scanning planets now and then... and still many many many more planets I havent touched yet.
Got more then ~75K Eezo and more then ~160K of all the other resources and nothing to spend it on.
Big spikes on the sensor are all ya really need...

The biggest spike produces the largest resource payoff. It has to be a really sharp spike for it to be worthwhile.
You will need to get as much Iridium as you possibly can because that stuff is used for researching weapons and armors. I had over 100k Iridium and ran out of the stuff in a hurry.

Yes, I think just big, hand buzzing spikes are worth probing. But, you still have to find them. The Prima game guide is a great reference for where the good stuff can be found. I'm not ashamed to use it for this purpose. Please see my "Planetary Scanning comments/tips/suggestions" thread for much more.

Wow, thanks for the fantastic breakdown - I didn't see your original post and they disabled searching for some reason. Thanks for the re-post!

Is that what the hell happened? I've been going crazy for the past 5 minutes trying to find the damn search option. What kind of forum doesn't allow you to "search" through tens and hundreds of pages of threads? It was working this morning...
And you're welcome!
