So it was pretty obvious I was going to fight the giant human-reaper... infact I would have been pissed if I was wrong. I heard from some reviewers that the battle was pretty lame but honestly... its the best boss battle Bioware has accomplished since Malak. It is pretty epic/fun and despite having some techincal qualms I have to say I felt accomplished when I kicked the **** out of the essance of tens of thousands of humans. What you guys think? Human-Reaper larva > Sovereign Saren imo.

The ending after you talk to the Ilusive Man is what kind of disappointed me. I kind of would rather have more closure than the open-ended "well the mission is complete... what next?"

the human-reaper larva sure felt more epic then saren, and i did enjoy it quite a bit despite how annoying it could be at times

It was horrible for me... absolutely horrendous boss fight. Maybe I was just extremely lucky but I just jumped behind some cover then played "whack-a-mole" on its eyes for 1-2min and it died.

Didn't have to move once or anything actually... Whack-a-mole is harder then whack-a-reaper as the moles have diffrent holes from where they popup. Bit of a letdown for me, just "whack-a-reaper" and aim for the eyes....

...could of brought my space-hamster for that though.

it was still more enjoyable then the saren fight where he was just jumping about like a grasshopper on crack though, and it "felt" more epic then fighting saren, so it was a upgrade from ME1, makes me curious how they gonna do it in ME3!

What difficulty were you on? I played on Veteren and then on casual (for desired ending) and casual only spawned one wave of enemies when Vetern spawned like six.

In ME3, the final boss battle will be you, Shepard, alone, against the full might of the Reaper Fleet.

And all you got is your space hamster.

TIME TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

Cool fight, mediocre story plot. It's a giant Terminator.

...Wat?

I was expecting something more...I don't know. Tasteful? Than just some giant anything.

Oh well. I am thoroughly enjoying everything else that is ME2 though, so I'm not too bothered. :)

I think a big thing that ruined the experience for me (and pretty much is the only thing that bothered me while progressing through the game) is that the enemy was a bit TOO mysterious/empty. We never really got that true introduction. I think they just gave us Harbringer's name the first time he spoke.

I'm all for mystery, and I like how they introduced us -- albeit slowly -- to the true evil in Mass Effect 1. It all came together at the end, even though we knew there was more to come. But ME2 just pretty much gave us "Collectors are over there, go catch 'em!" and all of a sudden we know all about them.

Then I find out about the human reaper, and I just went "". Something about Sovereign, and how he slowly became the focal point of the first game... This just didn't have the same impact. Of course, I was tense for other reasons (hoping no one was gonna die!)

I don't know if I'm making sense or just sounding redundant, but that's how I feel. I'm still lovin' the game. Can't put the controller down (with the exception of right now). In fact, I'm gonna start up round 2!

The "oh ****!" moment for me wasn't the human-reaper larva. That was trippy and the fight was cool - but it was the true revelation of who "Harbinger" was - as the station started to blow up and Harbinger "released control", the lead Collector just laid down to die and you can see the computer imprint of the Reaper that was controlling him - then it panned out to the Darkspace and that reaper is powered up and the rest are moving.

Mmmm.
