Uh, Zevran's not high ranking. He admits to being surprised he got the contract.

He was the only one who bid on it.

True, but he was still surprised, wasn't he?

Hmmm, he doesn't say so in regards to that mission I don't think.  He does say he was surprised when his bid for his mission before that one was accepted.  But I'm sure he must have been surprised.

Topo bad the Grey Wardens never got treaties with the crows. Would have much rather dealt with them than the Dalish.

Zevran wasn't high ranking, though, not by any means. He wasn't a novice, but he certainly wasn't a master, either. Talesin, I think, was Zevran's handler/superior, but even he, I don't think, was a relatively high ranking one.

Ignacio, however......he seemed to be much higher up there in rank.

True, I probably got them confused.  But both means he's not high-ranking and neither is Taliesin, right?

My impression is that Taliesen is not high ranking; they both have to report to a master crow.  I'm not sure how all that works though, how many levels there are.

Zevran is not referred to as a Master, whereas it's implied that Taliesin is since Master Ignacio tells you, "a Master has a contract out on you," which turns out to be Taliesin.

Edit:  Actually, now that I think about it, it could well be that Taliesin is not the master in question either but that he volunteered to take the contract to hunt down Zevran.

In reply to the question posed: Have you tried stealing from Ignacio?

You got it.

Reminds me of what they say of "the family" in "Prizzi's Honour": "Those guys love their money more than their children, and, boy, do they love their children!"

You could actually spec your entire character solely on the premise of trying to steal from him, that's how many points of cunning/stealing/stealth it takes...

The crows don't promote themsevles to be seen around in the public. Only a few know about the Crows which happens to be Lelina and Zeran. In all fairiness to the crows we don't know how many they actually killed and how many they didn't.

Though to be fair, Zarch was on a mission doomed to fail fighting a Grey Warden. Though he didn't just rush to kill him, he trapped him by having the tree fall behind him and had the archers shoot him at ranged. If any crow was even capable of killing

A grey Garden, it would be the Crows. Though they never was put in this situation, and they failed. It's clear that if a crow fails, he either dies from person he is trying to slay or by the crows because they don't want failure. At least their standreds are high

Though it would be nice in Dragon Age two, if you got more of an inside look into their operations. I'm suggesting perhaps a building that the crows work out of and you play as a crow in disgue to find someone there, that way you could see the crows

In a different light, rather then picking up a piece of paper in a dark allway. Though we will have to wait untill Dragon Age 2 and the expansion is two months away...when your checking fourms everyday, thats a very long time. I suppose we will have to wait

I always thought it would be kind of cool if they built up to the Zev encounter a little first by having you encounter a dead body or two along your travels with a prominently placed crow feather on the body - and if you chose to investigate a little you would conclude that they were simply unlucky travelers who were mistaken for you (Physical resemblance, 'borrowed' Grey Warden gear, etc.)... so by the time you actually encounter Zev, you know that there is a contract out on you and get a little backstory to paint the crows in a more ominous light.

As it is, your main source of information about the Crows notoriety during that first encounter is Zev himself...

But look at the trial of crows they were successful there with you doing their work for them, if you chose to. Clearly they can be successful when they hire the right people.

Also, if Zevran tried to fail, how could he be sure you wouldn't kill him? Even if you didn't mean to, throwing fireballs and swinging blades all over the place could have easily ended with his throat slit. Doesn't make sense to me.

Uh... he's attempting suicide by Grey Warden.  If you romance him, or get him high enough approval he admits this to you and why.

Mabey I should actually talk to him for once. I seem to remember something about this from my first playthrough but that was a long time ago now. Anyways......my mistake.

??  Are you talking about in Ferelden or in Antiva?  Because in Antiva, they certainly are well-known, and live partly on their fearsome reputation.  Obviously Leliana speaks up because she has, y'know, professional interest in them, but Wynne also knows of them as I recall, and I imagine any reasonably worldly person in Ferelden has at least heard of them.  Loghain recognizes immediately what Howe is talking about, for instance.

The Crows are actually quite a major force. In fact, one of the codexes pretty much states that the main reason Antiva doesn't get invaded or occupied for any signifigant length of time is because of the crows. Antiva has no standing military, yet even the qunari won't **** with them, and that's saying alot. Especially considering it took several exhalted marches involving several nations to drive the qunari back from other lands.

Anyone who can pretty much give the qunari pause is a serious force to be reckoned with.

So I think, that the Crows really are seriously badd ass mofos, and even moreso because you see next to little of them in game, yet their influence seems to be in alot of places you'd never think.

Whats a few exhalted marches compared to a few blights?  I'd rather fight the Chantry except as a mage I don't like mass templar formations.

The Crows maybe formidable but the Wardens haven't lost a single fight against the Blight yet and still counting.  I'm pretty sure that if Zev or the Crows could save and reload enough times they'd won.  Best 2 out of 3?
