I played the first game thinking that I could get with Tali and when I noticed I couldnt I went with Liara. They both stayed in my group from begining to end. When I found out that I could get Tali as a love interest in ME2 I was excited but by that time I had already fallen for Miranda so maybe next time I will live that first love. It would have been nice to finally see what she looked like in the bed room because I think you would have earned it after two games. I know a lot of the mistery is gone once you get to see what she looks like but if they did it right you would still love the character. Well at least I know I would.
I dropped miranda the moment tali hinted on a romance plot. Tali and shepard have more history anyway's.

This is the future, after all. I have no doubt that tech exists that would be capable to "fixing" the Quarian immune system. My guess is that the Quarians, as a people, have not attempted to do so because of their isolation.
It would please me if the Shepard/Tali relationship was the first stride toward a complete revolution for the Quarian way of life. But I am also a bit of a hopeless romantic.

On the other hand, there's the inside joke about Quarian romance in the bar on Ilium. "So then I had to explain to him about cross-species fluid contact..." They sure like to tease.

Well, they have actually shown her face. It's in her concept art in the collectors edition art book. It seems Quarians look very similar to Drell.
I don't think that was concept art for Tali. Her concepts were only two pictures on that page. The drell pictures next to her on that page were part of Thane's, who was on the opposite page. I highly doubt they'd ruin any of the mystery with concepts of her face.

I have only one real question - is Tali romancable if you're playing a female Shepard? If she is I somehow missed my chance ... if not, I am terribly disappointed.
dont think so. the only same sex relationship you can have is femshep/asari, at least as far as i know.

In an otherwise great game, what a disappointment. (Between that and the fact there's no continued romance with Liara, they pretty much turn their noses up at the female/female romance treatment in this game)

So what y'all are saying is that Tali is the ME equivalent of the Pyro from TF2?
...wonderful.
More like Samus from the metroid series. "OMG ITS A CHICK"

In a lot of shots with her, there is way more detail on her face beneath the mask. for example, you can see she has a human face shape and even normal human/asari lips.
Oh yeah the Quarians definately have humanoid features, as you said you can see it through the mask. I picture pointy elf like ears as well. There are a lot of parallels between the quarians and the elves of middle earth!

Either way, I loved Tali from the first time I met her in the first game and I am really glad she is a romance option in the second game. I spent most of the first game exploring every conversation option and trying to figure out how to strike up a romance with her, only to discover shortly before the end that she wasn't an option. My only disappointment in ME2 was that your romance with her boils down to just a few short conversations and one very quick scene. If there was ever any part of the game where I wanted more content, that was it.
I remember back in Baldur's Gate II where your romance with the female characters ran for most of the entire game and you had a lot of conversations with them AFTER they were your love interest. I don't normally get all geeked up about that sort of thing, but I think it was Tali's personality, sexy bod, and incredibly interesting story that made her so fascinating to me.
If anyone from Bioware is listening, an "after saving the galaxy" DLC that includes some more content with your love interest would definately get my wallet open. :-)
I honestly was tense with anticipation when the love scene came up and you pull her mask off. I thought Bioware's solution to the face issue was pretty good, even if I really REALLY wanted to see her face and the love scene was way too short.

Seriously, my favorite character of any Bioware game yet, and I've played them all! To me, she has more depth, and fleshed-out backstory than any other RPG computer character, and would be devestated if she were killed off, or sent away.
