Sounds like a full Steam issue. I have retail and play it on my laptop inbetween my classes. Since our school's wifi has most ports blocked I can't sign in on Cerebrus network, leading me to just turn off wifi to save battery power. I don't have this issue. IMO you should go look about in the Steam forums, someone there might know why that happens.

Sorry that I can't be of more help.

Then I can't really tell you what the problem could be. Perhaps one of the preload errors? Verify the integrity of your game files. If it comes down to it you could delete local content and reinstall Steam.

The only game I handle with Steam is Modern Warfare 2, so my knowledge with this ends there. Sorry mate D=

What Country are you in?  It may be a region limitation.

Turn off the autologin option - if it tries to login and fails it will assume all DLC failed authorization, if it doesn't even bother logging in the issue should never arise. (The same method as DA:O - although ME2's autologin is a little more of a pain to find, I'd check ATM, but reformatting my box I'm playing ME2 on ATM so can't walk you through how to do it currently =/)

Well I figured it out all by my self! (thanks to all those who tried to help)

Might want to throw this into the solved area in case any one else has this issue.

When I went to try offline mode out I was switch off my WLAN switch on the front of my computer disconnecting me from the internet and unable to connect to the internet until its switched back on. For what ever reason ME 2 still thinks it can connect or what ever but it can't so it gives me a bogus error about unauthorized DLC. But when I simply disconnect from the internet without turning the WLAN switch off and leave it on I can play all my DLC offline without any issue as long as I had logged into my account first to authorize my DLC.

I just log off from in the game, there is a "automatically connect" option under the online section. I can still get into the game and have access to all of the DLC's. Even if I physically remove the PC from my network.

It seems that you need to be connected to the internet when starting the game.

It verifies what DLC you have loaded and checks for any updates.

After that, you can disconnect from Cerebus.

This sucks.... as I don't always have access to the internet.

Hoping for a solution....

After waiting two days to connect to CN some guy in the support chat finally entitled my game for Cerberus.

But now I have the same problem, that I can only load a savegame with DLC if I am online.

Please, dont tell me thats the way its supposed to be?!

Yes that's what they did now. You are required to play online just to use the DLCs which by the way were already included when I bought the game. Thank you Bioware doing this crap! Retail here.

Hi, i'm from Italy and i have the same problem!! ME2 is not WOW it's not an online game! Why i have to connect to internet every time i play for 2 items??? It's ridiculous. As every time the persons who buy original game have more problems then "pirates" who download the game from torrent! My question is: why???

Hello guys! I'm from Poland and bought the Collectors Edition and have the same issue here as well. Everything ends up like CellmanAlexander wrote - the pirates are laughing and we need to face this kind of things :( I had a issue with my internet for couple of days and I just had to start the game all over again...

Problem solved :-) You have to go to the setup of the game and impost the not-auto connection at the start of the game. Then you can use your LEGAL dlc in the game without any connection to internet ;-)

It made no difference for me. Unless I'm able to go online, I get the message 'unable to authorize the listed DLC.' showing everything I redeemed with my collector's edition. that means all of the games I played with them enabled give me 'The selected game cannot be loaded. The following dlc is missing...'

Someone please just confirm if this is a bug or intentional. Can I 'authorize' dlc content once and for all so I can play this OFFLINE game offline?

Connect to Cerberus in-game first to auth the file, but make sure the game and dlc's are properly registered and listed in your social network account.

I know this is for the PC, but does this also work for the Xbox 360 version? Because I can't connect to Xbox live right now and I can't load my saved file. WTF is this crap, why do I have to be online to play a game I paid $65 bucks for?

I am having a similar issue as well, and just unchecking the login features does not resolve it. I registered and got the DLC, then turned off all ME2 online features and blocked it in firewall--but it is clearly still trying to connect to the internet and won't even let me launch from the launcher, this is ridiculous.

I'm having the same problem. I'm logged on, I tried logging out and back on--still getting the same error message and I can't continue my game.

This problem is most certainly not solved for me. I tried everything that has been suggested in this thread to no avail. Disabling auto connect doesn't help, I never turn off my LAN when disconnecting so that's not the issue, and reinstalling the game and DLC doesn't help either. I have the Deluxe version from Direct2Drive, all DLC is legal, paid for, and authorized on my Bio account. Sent 2 PMs to devs about this, and they ignored me.

There's another thread on this here. http://social.biowar...06/index/939997

I have the same problem. Can't play offline with DLC. I log in to Cerebrus each time otherwise. It always tries to connect me, even when I set the ea online to off. Very annoying. It only saves the ea online until I exit the game, then it's back to on. Again, very annoying. I have a PC.

In this thread someone said: "I think the problem only pops up when the game fails to store the success of the authorization of a DLC in that file on your PC, which causes your game to think that you haven't logged in to activate it yet."

And, in response to "The DLC checks your account (for authentication) only once," the very helpful and official Bioware response was: "Correct" . He didn't answer the question of what to do if it doesn't.

The fact that some people can play offline suggests ME2 has to store the activation somewhere, yet in some (many) cases fails to.

I suddenly recall that Cerberus was still notifiying me of "new content available" everytime I logged on, even though I had already redeemed, installed and authenticated every DLC available on my account. At the time I thought it was just standard newscast material, but now I'm not so sure.

The people whose content is working offline - can you tell us whether you still get notified of (installed) content by Cerberus when you log on? And can you find any visible sign of activation locally, like a file or config?
