Mass Effect 2 Release Date check failure, because your windows username is not ENGLISH.
When you run the "Release Date check" , it will create some file in your Window Temp Folder.EX: C:\\Users\\<your name>\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\mtka_tmp (FOR WINDOWS VISTA)
The Method:
1. Run the "Release Date check" .(DON'T CLOSE)
2. Browse to the Windows Temp folder. (C:\\Users\\<your name>\\AppData\\Local\\\\\\\\Temp\\\\\\\\mtka_tmp)
3. SELECT ALL FILES And COPY To D:\\TEMP
4. CLOSE THE "Release Date check")
5. Run D:\\Temp\\MassEffect2_activation.exe
6. You Will PASS the Release Date check, and there became the three files in D:\\Temp.
7. DELETE ALL FILES in C:\\Users\\<your name>\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\mtka_tmp
8. Move All File in D:\\Temp to C:\\Users\\<your name>\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\mtka_tmp
9. Run Mass Effect 2 and Play it!<3
