im about to get mass effect 2 and im torn between these three classes can someone help me decide?

i like to kill things pretty fast but doesn't have to be likea 1 shot kill.

i really don't like to die much.

i like to be tactical when it comes to games like this.

i would like to be more than just support.

and i want my skills to hit pretty hard against the big machines.

Infiltrator is what comes to mind here...

Of the three classes mentioned though probably Sentinel, what with Tech Armour and all

Out of those three, sentinel. They can attack both shields and barriers, they have a variety of powers for different situations, they have tech armor to keep them alive longer, and their overliad works good for fighting robots

Judging by what you say Infiltrator would suit a lot, aye.

Beyond that the three classes - especially Adept compared to Engineer - are quite different.

I suggest looking at the class vids to see which playstyle you prefer... I currently am playing as an Engineer, not that far in yet though, but so far it seems good. (Loved the Engineer in ME1)

i have looked at the class vids and thats the thing i like the way they all play i like the drone and ai hacking for engineer and using cyro blast then smacking  a krogan seems like fun, the adept with singularity and a warp/shockwave looks amazingly fun, and the mixture of those on the sentinel plus tech armor looks like a blast. i was goin for infiltrator second playthrough and i don't wanna play the soldier really.

I've read the adept plays a little weak. Enemies take cover and it can be tough to hit them with bio powers (shockwave ignores cover though). Personally, I'm an infiltrator. I hit 'em with an Incinerate then wait for them to stick their head.

Of course you can also train cross-class powers later on in the game. So my Inf has barrier, which is just sweet for those tough spots!

soldier > infiltrator in some aspects

adrenaline makes it so much easier to get headshots with the sniper rifle. I actually use the sniper rifle most of the time.

Can always use heavy weapons to take down heavy shields or strong enemies. ( adrenaline + rushing to an enemy with a flame thrower, its quite deadly.)

Of course, no biotics or techs.

yeah, i know ts didnt mention neither of those classes, but i just felt like mentioning it. haha

I'm not that far into the game yet, so take this with a grain of salt, but so far I haven't had many issues hitting enemies with bio powers thanks to them "homing" on your target (can curve around stuff). You can see this in the gameplay vid too.

Those are talents of your squad mates(unlocked when loyal) and shepardt can use them as bonus talents.

Sentinel all the way:

Overload - takes out shields

Warp - good against biotic barriers and armour

If you want to strengthen your guns fire power go for Garrus' bonus power (good against armour and unshielded enemies) thats what i'm gonna do!

Bibleboy, Reave, beside being a DoT also gives a HP-bonus!

Sentinels have bonus shields, though the global cooldown on them kinda bites, and their varied abilities can take out shields, barriers, AND armor. Whereas the other two can usually only take down one or two of those meaning you either shoot your way through the rest or bring a squadmate that can.

Sentinel all the way.

The best thing about Adept is that enemies behind cover might as well have their butts hanging in the wind. However, of the three, for what you want: go Sentinel.

I did my first playthrough with Adept...Oh man is it ever BAD ASS! I loved it! I felt so powerful lol...Singularity/Warp combo is freakin devastating!

Second playthrough now im playing an engineer. It's pretty awesome too! Although I think it's a bit harder than Adept to play, it's still really fun. MUCH different fighting style!
