So they said there were 19 weapons in vanilla ME 2 (no DLC). I found and know of 18. Below is the list:

Assault Rifles: Avenger, Vindicator, Revenant

Shotgun: Katana, Scimitar, Claymore

Sniper Rifle: Mantis, Viper, Widow-maker anti-material

Heavy Pistol: Carnifex (is that...Warhammer reference?), Predator

Submachine Gun: 1st one, Tempest

Heavy weapons: Grenade Launcher, Missile Launcher, Cryo Blaster, Cain "Nuke" Launcher, Collector Particle Beam

What else did I miss? I'm suspecting that it'd be a more advanced heavy pistol or submachine gun for less firearm inclinded professions. Is that it?

You are missing a SMG indeed, but beat me i can't remember its name or location, it was obscure though... probably some side mission. Theres 2 pistols and 2 smgs to be found.

2 pistols and 2 smgs? That'd make the count 20, are you certain? (just want to make sure it wasn't a typo) I only found 1 each. That'd give us more incentives to do the side mission if they were indeed found in side missions.

Yes, though you might have to scan something.

Yes it is. After you've upgraded the first or second heavy weapons upgrade, it'll show up with the missile launcher.

Yeah it's found through a main mission, but you'll only be able to pick one out of three, kind of sucks, though not debilitating if you only favor one type of weapon.

Is that true about the Pulse Rifle because I looked all over that room and didn't find it.

The geth rifle can only be obtained from when doing tali mission on Hardcore.

I did two playthroughs and had that weapon in there both times. First one as a Vanguard on Hardcore then Soldier on Insanity. So that rumour is probably true..

Which is still just a rumor. It's more likely that people are just missing it, if it even exists. The developers aren't known to hide stuff based on the difficulty level.

Just look at all the posts regarding it and no one actually says they found it, they just regurgitate the same hearsay about it.

Kronner supposedly has found it,  I'll see about verifying that on my second play through, but I still think it's just a gag.

If it is based off the level you play I don't feel that is right. I mean sure I'll get it because I work slowly up in the diffculty level but still it would be nice to get all the weapons.

Play normal before the tali mission up it to Hardcore do the mission drop it back down.

I might do that next play though to see if that works. Not looking forward to fight outside her room on hardcore.

If it exists, and for some reason only shows up in hardcore, then I suspect it's a scripting error rather than intentional. Enemy spawns don't even change if you're at a higher difficulty.

I found the Geth Pulse rifle on my normal playthrough, it just does not show up to equip on anyone for some reason. Any way were do you get the Scimitar shotgun, the claymore sucks and I would like to try out a new shotgun at some point.

I believe the Scimitar is on a merc corpse in the Samara recruitment mission, but I could be wrong. It's definitely a lot better than the Claymore, especially if you're using it against a shield, barrier, or against armor using armor-piercing rounds or incendiary rounds. Chews through the Harbinger like a rottweiler.

The Claymore, sadly, needed to do A LOT more damage to make its terrible fire rate worth it. Perhaps they'll patch it into effectiveness, but I doubt it.
