It doesn't even extend to the LIs exlusively. My DudeShep killed off Ashely in ME1, so I had Kaiden. When I ran into Kaiden he's all pissed off at me. I was like, "Dude I've only been awake for like a week!"
Yeah I was hoping that there was going to be an option to tell ashley that the afterlife has poor reception.

I'm hoping there isn't any reprecussions from moving on from your Mass Effect 1 love interest other then possible hurt feelings on your former paramours side.

Hey, that's a good point, Redem0. Shepard's in a unique position to answer some key questions.

The devs indicated it will be mentioned. Just imagine an angry confronation. Frankly, it seems the ME 1 romances moved on and if I am about to go on a suicide mission I am not sleeping alone the night before. They can deal with it in ME 3. Anyway, I like the akward confronations!

"You didn't call me! NOTHING!"

That would be worth some renegade points.
Only problem is YOUR not mad at your ex, they are mad at YOU. I dont feel any of the ME1 LI's are worth worrying over, they arent loyal. (except Tali and Garrus)pacer90 wrote...

Well, mentally and emotionally, Liara is a teenager.
Teenagers fall in love and change and move on a lot.

Luckily for me I had a playthrough with no romance carryover.

When it comes to Liara, I really don't understand where the "she's not loyal" and "she didn't stand by you" comments are coming from. For all the times Bioware beat us over the head with the "THEY MOVED ON!" stick, it's obvious that Liara hasn't moved on. If it wasn't for her inability to "let you go," Shepard would be hanging on a wall in a Collector ship, instead of running around saving the galaxy.

Considering how BW wrote the ME1 LI's dialogue and interactions, these characters would have no right to be upset with you if you started up a new relationship in ME2. None. They didn't stand by you, after all, so they have no right.

Yeah, but that part of the backstory isn't in the game, but in the comic book or on the Wiki.
