I have been having this problem for just over a month now. In Several games (Mass Effect 2, L4D2, Street Fighter 4, Team Fortress 2) after a few minutes of gameplay there are massive frame rate drops. I already updated all the drivers, and cleaned out a good chunk of dust from my graphics card, but still nothing. I really hope someone has had the same problem as me and figured it out, please dont make me use a console to play my games:(
Here are my specs

Try closing down some of the programs that are running in the background.

I once had issues with FPS and sound glitches. Couldn't figure out for the life of me what was causing the issue. Some time later the power supply died. Replaced the PSU and everything worked fine.

Not saying its a power supply, but you could have a piece of hardware begining to fail.

you could try the cpu affinity trick although I somehow doubt this would do anything given it seems like it wasn't occurring before.
