What carries over for a new game+ ? Do I get to keep my armor, weapons, $, upgrades, etc? That planet scanning thing is a big timesink and not that entertaining..I'd love to not have to go through that again every time I do a playthrough =\\

I'm also interested to find out what carries over to a ME2 NG+.
And I'm posting in this thread, so I'll be able to find it in "My Posts" since the forum search feature has been disabled.

Armor, weapons, and credits is what ive been told. After i beat the game i just started a new one saved and shutdown so not 100% accurate. As for upgrades i dont think they carryover but i may be wrong. Also when you start newgame+ you gain 50k+ resources.

I forgot already, but it tells you your options. You can either continue and finish missions, or port your character over. I know you keep weapons and get a cash bonus, but I'm not sure if its ALL your cash. And obviously your level is kept.
Okay I didn't fully forget, but that's all I remember.

couldn't you already do this with the advanced training research upgrade?

Ok.. I did a newgame+. This is what happens:
Every new game from here on out:
-You get 50k of every resource for every new character..so you never have to mine element zero again basically at least
-200,000 credits to start with
-25% more xp across the board
If you import another character, they get their own bonus + this bonus above
If you restart that character, you only get the above bonus, but you keep your guns and level. Therefore, you can specialize in all 3 guns if you play it 3 times with the same character.
You can get to level 30 in one playthrough..I did. Also, you have to redo all your upgrades, which sucks.

It seems Bioware is actually discouraging replays of the same character, which makes sense as some complained about having to replay someone 3 or 4 times to get everything done. Most everything can be done in one playthrough and I guess they want to incentivize experimenting with multiple characters rather than spending 60 hours with one PC.
My main character, who I just beat the game with, is pretty much done barring some new important DLC. I have to make sure to upload the save for ME 3 to a web space or I will lose it...

Overall I plan to replay my same Soldier Shep 3 times since I want to have a mega awesome Soldier Shep with all 3 of the special weapons from the Collector Ship >.>
Claymore/Widow/Revenant? Oh yes please! xD
But I do agree it's more fun to import fresh again and change the class then to just continue on with NG+ so far.

Yeah.. My first was a soldier, which was awesome on veteran. I started an adept on insanity only to realize that biotics suck at hard levels. I'm doing an infiltrator now with insanity difficulty, which rocks
Probably the best for insanity because when you are invisible, no one will shoot you..even if you are shooting at them..so you can go invisible, pop up and shoot, pop back down and wait for the cooldown again if you don't even want to get damaged.
