Odd.. there was alot of work by Moderators and Designers on the board yesterday - but they forgot to answer any of the important questions
The moderators don't know any more than you do -- they're volunteers from the community. The designers probably don't know the details of the release schedule in each region either, but even if they do, they wouldn't be allowed to say. The people you need to talk to you are marketing/community relations/etc and they rarely hang around here except in dedicated threads.

Still... I think this does need to be confirmed. And this is a general discusssion board.

Bumping
We can always play "thread tennis" - back and forth until it is eleven pages long and looks more noticeable...
Or the xbox version comes out
Still, it is a good distraction from trolling about RTO... at least they should be happy for small mercies

that's just lazy talk... traditional gets old. it all depends on your commitment to make it work. if bioware had been more committed, rto's fix for the ps3 shouldn't have been a problem but they chose to fix the ps3 version last. which, for me as a ps3 owner, is a no-no.
Actually, to clarify, the PS3 version is in certification with Sony right now. It was developed concurrently, and was submitted for testing at the same time as Xbox 360. However, Sony has a different process than Microsoft, and so their process takes longer. This is not to point a finger and blame someone else, but to make you aware of the fact that we do consider the PS3 right along with other platforms. But that part of the release process is something that we don't have control over.
This clarification just confused me. You wrote on the other thread:Victor Wachter wrote...
As promised yesterday, I followed up with Fernando on the status of the PS3 release. Here is what he sent me:The
issue we saw on 360, which was introduced with the title update, also
exists on the PS3 patch that was planned to go out with the Return to
Ostagar DLC for PS3 – it is a console agnostic issue. However, the
title update / patch itself (without the issue) is needed for both
platforms in order to fix some main game items, as well as enable
functionality for Return to Ostagar, and future functionality that
benefits upcoming DLC. This meant we were unable to simply go ahead and
release the PS3 version independent of pulling the 360 version, we now
needed to re-open the PS3 version as well before that went public.
Once
we were able to resolve the issue for 360 and delivered the second
title update to MS for final certification then work began in earnest
on the short hop to moving this across to PS3 and directing the test
focus there. The nature of the issue was such that it required the same
programmers and made more sense for that particular ‘nut’ to be cracked
on the 360 first to really understand how to fix it once and for all,
so this was not something we could do in parallel for both platforms.
Lastly,
Sony's certification time simply takes longer than Microsoft's. It is
also worth mentioning again that as we saw with the original RtO dates,
even once in Cert until we actually pass an issue can still be found
anytime either by ourselves or Sony/MS which would re-start the process
all over again. In practical terms, what that means is that until we
are virtually on the last days of certification it is not easy to
provide an estimated release date – and we’re not there yet.
What we can do is update you once we get there with Sony certification, as we did with the 360 updates.
It might be best to avoid this kind of misleading statement. Even if you developed simultaneously, you did not fix that bug simultaneously, you left the ps3 for last. Such a decision might have adequate reasons behind it, as it is stated in Fernando's quoted post, but you should always make it clear as to what you are referring to.

I thought the bug was not identified until it was tested for the 360? So does this mean that it was only relevant to the 360 and they wanted to correct it for everything nonetheless? Or that it just had not been checked properly and would have effected all formats?

Well according to VGChartz the PS3 version of Dragon Age only sold 610,000 copies. If most of those happened to come from NA then maybe EA doesn't see a point in releasing the PS3 version of Awakening in other territories.
VGChartz does not have accurate information, and they track American sales using the data from NPD and such, which means that anything beyond NA gets blurry very quickly.
Regardless, even if PS3 version had sold only half a million copies.... Out of the ps3 you expect EA+Bioware to get about $20 back from each sell after associated discounts and such are applied. So $20+600,000= 12,000,000. That's significant revenue at minimum added cost for development (same overheads, shared marketing, volume printing, etc). It would be stupid to turn back on 12mil because the 360 got you 24mil.

on a possible release date.
""Hopefully not too long after. Bioware/EA havent announced anything as yet.""
It dosen't sound that encouraging really.

How, exactly, is it completely mucked up?immortal_scream wrote...
Love it when Bioware release their first game for ps3 and completely muck it up, just like with the original release date and RtO. It's just great.
If they aren't releasing it in Europe, then what release are you referring to?
They don't owe you anything that you haven't already paid for and received.

The AU version better not miss "question time"...
It would be a rather annoying oversight if this thread ended up with a great result for EU and then the Australian fans had to create the exact same thread...
I swear I'll do it
