yeah EU usually covers Aus and NZ dosen't it? Im a kiwi so kind of used to getting things last more or less :)

From what I know... "sort of".

EU and AU systems are both PAL, but they have their differences... so I NEED to know that it is still getting an Australia and NZ release.

And RTO is probably out this Thursday or next Thursday - the days when Sony uploads to its network. It is in their hands now.

For the European (as well as all PAL versions) release of Awakening on PS3, we will be releasing it only as download content, due to requirements from Sony. So you will be able to purchase, download and play, but it will not be available at retail.

Thank You Very Much for clearing up this issue for all of us nervous gamers, Victor.

I know we all very much appreciate it...

That being said, I am *very* happy that it will be available for PS3.

But, woah... it couldn't seem a more "Back Seat" version at all could it? Download only?

Not an afterthought at all. We are simply not allowed to do both a DLC and retail release in Europe, and so we had to choose one distribution or the other.

Okay... interesting... so it really *is* a Sony issue?

Because I have just heard alot of points where Mods and Developers contradict each other about the specifics of Sony's, er... process, and it is a good shield.

As in: Why on earth would you choose dlc over retail? Once the system changes, we will not even be able to re-download it after a certain period... people who have discs will still be able to play it on the next system (maybe), whereas a dlc is certainly more temporary.

I am stil *VERY, VERY* happy to be able to play it - don't get me wrong, and I am not trying to say "Wah, wah, you hate Sony" I am just wondering at the specifics of the choice, it seems less stable for a market or a consumer.

Still, happy, though Image IPB

i may be going that way to ULTIMAHUNTER i can sell my copy as it is to a friend for £25 (collectors edition) which i probably will except i dont mind spending £5-£10 on dlc from the store but not £20 especially after i had problems with another bit of content i downloaded for another game that didn't work and playstation said they weren't going to refund me so i aint risking it tbh

ps thanks bioware for making a thoroughly enjoyable game

Well I obviously would much rather get the disc instead of just the download, but I guess that's better than not getting it at all. I just hope it's not too huge in terms of size :/

So is it still being released on the March 19th?

I'm just wondering but did they give a reason why sony is not allowed to release in such a fashion also is this something new? I'm just asking because after checking the ps3 store I have noticed quite a few games that have botha  retail and dlc version.
e.g. Watchmen
Will it still be the same price because I would be willing to pay £45 if I had the disk, packaging and instruction booklet butnot for a dlc.

Also how much memory will this download require on the system hard drive?

edit
Or perhaps Bioware could do a special edition similar to oblivion and fallout.
Basically in the goty editions fo the game you recieve the dlc on the disk, perhaps it would remove some of the consumer angst if bioware released a similar set.

Once again us EU PS3 owners get dumped on, then we'll find out that it's been delayed for the EU due to Sony's testing methods :( How big is it gonna be roughly & will we get exactly the same version as everyone else?

So PS3 owners are once again getting the shaft while owning the best gameconsole in the world... sigh

With great power, comes great complexity!

The PS3 apparently has a CPU that requires a lot more skill then either of the other 2 consoles, to derive a lot of performance from it.

sad that european ps3 players get so little attention :/

dragon age is a great game i really love and enjoy it but it just doesnt seem right that "microsoft products (like xbox and pc) get all the nice stuff early and good and the ps3 players especially the EU ones get dissapointed day by day

i dont wanna blame anyone neither EA nor bioware or sony ... but you all parts should seriously find a better system for european ps3 players since i think they are a real great bunch of them which means a big deal of money

im no pro but if those players will be pissed and screw ps3 that would be a enormous loss

as i said i really like dragon age ... but spending 45 bucks on a download content in which i dont have anything in my hands seems not really right to me

i know theres absolutely no reason to listen to some idiot on a webforum but you should seriously think about something special to calm the eu ps3 players down a little before its to late

well you still did a great job on the game really amazing keep it going and improving

I don't have an PS2 or PS3 myself... but still... feel sorry for my fellow EU and PAL-based PS-players... some cases of bad luck, and guidelines (seems Sony to me - but wth why both disc and DLC in NA, and only DLC in EU and PAL? Too much part of the games already being downloaded instead disc usages in EU and PAL?)

its simple: i paid 70€ for this game (80-90$) and i have the same rights that the people that live in NA to get the expansion in phisic format, also not everyone has internet, and if the file is big it will take ages to download, also my PS3 HDD is almost full and in march FFXIII and GOW3 are coming too, and ppl will share the expansion so that wasent a smart move, so bioware just lost 40€ from me, and 5€ of RTO, they have the balls to release a 30 mins DLC on ps3 late, and a patch for PS3 3/XBOX months after the game is out, and no1 from bioware looks in the ps3 suport forum, so i wont buy a game of bioware never again like i did whit bethesda's fallout.
btw sorry if my english is bad but i live in spain

Im sure I shall forget all that when Im playing it though - or when Im playing FFXIII :D

Never mind the fact that psn users can share their downlaods with other players.

From every purchase of the expansion up to four others will be able to play it for free due to a mate allowing them to download it off their account.

i too would have preferred a nice shiny box. i wonder how long it will take to download i imagine quite a long time. NZ boardband network is not exactly known for its lightning speed. But im still happy that we are going to get it. Wonder if the release date will be the same or will we be in for a wait again?
