Plot twists that turn the established lore on its head and completely change the direction of the story would be truly compelling.

I have to agree here. The whole time during my first play through I was half expecting a plot twist with Loghain that would make any decision with him later on so much more difficult. As I think about it now, maybe that's why they didn't add a twist...everyone expects one. A curse on your house Mr. Shamylan.

Concerning my "ferelden is whitesville" comment that a few of you commented on... I get that the main story draws parallels with England and France (with ancient Tivinter being the Roman empire and now the weaker Byzintine empire). It's just that Ferelden has been conqured and reconqured and been at war with a few different nations that some diversity would have taken place. But, you guys are right, European countries weren't very diverse until they started marching on Africa and Asia in the 1800s.

I do like how the elves have different accents than the humans though. Nice touch.

I agree with everyone who thinks the sex scene was awkward. The music made it verge on embarassing
I think the graphics on this game just weren't there for that kind of thing. I mean, they did such a good job with it in ME...it was just wierd. A tasteful kiss and fade out with music would have worked better for this game imo.

If I was to choose one thing that didn't completely bowl me over about the game, I would have to say it was the ending. It seemed a little abrupt, I was hoping for a little more.

Man I'm actually asking if you happened to dislike a thing or two about the game lol.
Your post sounds more like an attempt to shoot me down hahaha
Anyway it's like I said: feedback matters. This applies universally of course so I appreciate your input.

Well my response told you things I didn't care for & my quick defensive reaction should of easily showed you my stance on the game. To correctly answer your Q though. I feel the environments need a lot of work, the art style i beautiful but the blurry low res textures are just depressing & something that shouldn't of happened. That & party AI, we desperately need an AI patch. EVen before my 24 mods Alistair constantly paused for a few seconds, companions randomly ran off & most importantly glyph spells were ignored all the time by Wynne.
These are only two minor things bc the AI I can live with & is not game breaking but the graphics are a bit sad. I really can't give a pass on that...the environments are just out dated & bad.

I really didn't like the fact that I could end up with like, Ten party members, but I only ever need to use three of them. I'd rather have fewer party members, who are more human (I mean, even more human than they alread seem).

A great game, but a few things that I didn't really like or wasn't impressed by:

Mob/loot scaling: I just don't like game worlds scaling around my level. While it does work pretty well in this game, I prefer some areas just simply being extremely more difficult than other areas...and thus the rewards in those areas being better.

Loot variety: Certainly a lack of "cool" loot in the game, especially for mages and rogues. I prefer finding the best loot while out adventuring instead of buying it from vendors....or being "given" it from a DLC. There were times I went many...many...levels without swapping out gear.

Too much handholding: Since this is the no-spoiler zone I won't get into specifics...but having access to some items in an unlimited quanity I think is silly. Also, finding crates/chests jam packed full of useful potions the room before a big fight is equally as silly. Personally I just refused to take advantge of those situations, so it didn't really affect my game...but it's not something I like to see in my RPGs.

Overall though, an outstanding game. I wished we had many more party-based single player RPGs to look forward to in the future.

Just play the game children.

1- Dalish elf mage should be able to be an elf from the Dalish camp. The Dalish kept themselves cut off from humans on purpose, had mages. The origins of a mage from the Dalish camp should have been possible. To my mind this is contradictory to the story.

2- Wardens Keep. I think the keep should have remained open after you leave and your party camp moved inside the building with the new merchant and the blacksmith.

3- I just got the Return to Ostagar and havent been there yet but understand that once you leave you cant go back. I feel once you open an area you should be able to return to explore more, unless it is like the Fade.

4- Saw no benefit what-so-ever in the purchase of the merchants belt.

5- Romance scenes are a one time thing, Once you have it, its gone. Whats with that?

6- Would have like more dialogue about days events around the camp between the PC and the companions. I think this would have been more important after instances like the Fade and the acquiring of the Wardens Keep and what happened there.

7- End game the dialogue for my Dalish elf rogue was the same if i said i was staying as if I said i was returning to my clan.

8- Once I was told I couldnt be Alistairs queen because I was not of a noble class after being made a hero. but yet Anora was a commoner. her father a commoner being made a hero, but she was allowed to marry Cailan.

But I have only played through the game twice and I am sure these are minor to what some others may have issues with. My main issue is not being able to access areas like the Keep and Ostagar once those are completed. Discrepancies in stories bother me. I wonder where the editors are.

I found the difficulty in acquiring a complete set of armor very annoying. I should be able to walk into a armor smiths shop and (provided I have the gold) be able to buy a complete set of say Red Steel splint mail, rather than just the chest piece or the boots. I shouldn't have to rely on the quarter master and 2 vendors and random pick ups and body looting to get a full set of Steel Chain-mail. I also agree with others on the lack of variety for the light armor sets. They all look the same, just colored differently.

The outdoor environments are too restricted, they look nice but there is no where to go in them except along a very specific path, and so far I've only seen 3 different areas where the random encounters take place.

I don't expect to walk out of an encounter with 10K gold, but at the same time it doesn't make any sense to walk in a room that holds a Dragons Horde like you do in the Sacred Ashes quest where there is (what looks like) piles of gold heaped on the floors and when you unlock a chest in that room all you get is a frozen lightning and 2 silver and 10 copper pieces.

Mages shouldn't be healers. I don't have a problem with having a couple of mild to moderate healing spells, but there should be another class for that.

Overall though, like everything else I have ever spent my gaming money on with Bioware they have never let me down yet. I love this game and I'm pretty sure I'll wind up playing it through at least twice.

Oh, I almost forgot, if there is an area you will not be able to go back to, all chests should be openable. Ostagar and the Korie Wilds for example, if you do not have the unluck skill you cant return to collect any loot, unless of course it is asured there is NO quest related or plot related items in those chests.

This isn't linked to world scaling, in fact world scaling could allow it but in design. See DAO can offer more or less rude fights, the scaling system doesn't mean that all fights get the same difficulty level. That would be totally boring and DAO avoided this trap.

A little problem that is facing the game is that once players learned more tricks in character building, equipment use and fights tactics, the game become easy even at nightmare level. But that's just design failure, not a problem coming from the scaling system.

Honestly its hard for me to complain about DA:O after playing ME2. DA:O looks like a 11 outta 10 scoreing game after ME2 but here goes.

1) Lenght, not really but I always want more of a good game
2) Nudity/sex sceens, old complaint but for a mature game I expect more immersive and tantalizing romance pay offs. This is not a kids game so no reason to treat it as such
3) Bigger side missions. Some of the battlefeild only missions were just to short, would like to see more invoved in them

Really thats about it for my complaints, the game was fantastic and would be my all time favorite game if not set in a fantasy setting. Still a 9 outta 10 score compared to ME2s 7.1 score

Well, just finished the return to ostagar, was really disappointed about Alistairs response about the joining cup as a gift. Would have thought it would mean more to him since he was at my joining, And no discussion of the trip afterwards in camp

I understand that most people would find it hopelessly tedious and boring, but for those with patience, nd longer attention spans, a reward awaits. The tale of Beren and Luthien could stand beside any romance in western history, and  the ineffable sadness of the tragedy  "Of Maeglin" could stand up to any of the classic greek tragedies, in my opinion.

Echoing a few others...

AI was horrible, what's with the running backwards?!?!
Trying to find a complete set of armor, it's like searching for the Sphinx's nose.
Loot, really miserable unless you get the DLC, which of course is non transferrable.
Romance - you'd think it was a one night stand for all the dialogue options afterwards.
Origin talent and skill picks... Really, I'm a big boy I can choose for myself.
Item creation, or the lack thereof.
It's sorely lacking in NPC interaction, and there's really not much in the way of companion interaction for that matter.

Yet, despite it all, I actually built a new pc just so I could play the d&m^ thing; and I'd do it again.

class and specializations!

Seriously give us more then 4 freaking skills, or lower the level at which we can get them. Why do we have like 8 companions, but 3 classes and 4 specializations?

Companions lack of lines, enough said.

Morrigans Romance plot!

It was too easy to make her fall in love with me, and when I got to the juicy part about her being frightened and all; that is it. Lets not forgot the lack of chances the romance actually has on the story or even some other companions. I mean I kiss bella right in front of both morrigan and Leliana and nothing happened outside leliana's disapproval rating. I mean currently in the game I am in I had started a romance with both leliana and morrigan, chose morrigan, and then still returned to leliana and did her romance. Now I have a broken morrigan afraid of her own feelings, and a Liliana who wants to travel the world with me. If I insult morrigan a bit maybe I can drop her romance and get a 3-way going.

Like the feeling of being an actual mage.

This has to be the biggest downer for me, and I am sad to admit this, but Dao is the first game where I will prefer any other class over mage. I'm a hard core mage player and that is saying something coming from me.The class just simply seemed broken, overpowering stuns that can make or break your team, multiple spells that just felt like they had the same repeated affects, A MAGE PICKING UP A SWORD, PUTTING ON ARMOR, GIVING UP SPELL DAMAGE, AND TANKING BETTER THE A FREAKING WARRIOR! That ins in no definition of a word a mage. I love this game I really do, but to me it has become like oblivion; so modding community we are waiting for you (PC FTW).

Cant agree more! The loot is just "crap". Many of the Boss drops are Deep Mushrooms . I can hardly motivate myself now exploring all Areas, because of the Loot. Which reflects the finish level of my character(s). First one ended up on level 22, now at around level 19. Sometimes it appeared to me that a dialouge, was written by two persons. Started of well and than it "died badly". Maybe money/time restrain?

Getting a bit boring now to play. But I loved the Dwarf Commoner Origin play through! Except for some dialouge options.

I was excited when I saw mauls/maces had good armor penetration and couldn't wait to find a good axe.... sadly, the same does not apply. Axes crush as well as cut. They should here too.

RtO was a big let down. I did this almost at end game, wanting it to be top tier items only to find the main items don't scale unlike WK. The armor is even all different materials. You would also think the papers you acquire there would be of use later on. There should have been some synergy with the main plot here.

Loot was kind of sad. Kill an ancient abomination for what, a lyrium potion? I think not.

Preset skills/talents.. The only one that worked for me was the city elf. I love DW both in games and in RL practice. Bulky shield, not so much.

Aren't you a little inconsistent? First you say you do not see anything wrong with the game, then that you are yet to see a perfect game... Although I probably understand how did you meant it, i think some feedback would be great, there is always something to improve, according to your second sentence :).

I, for one, would like to see better and more original story, more complex side quests and a larger party group.

Well, i would like to see, first of all, a fix of the bugs that are bothering people left and right.

side quests need to be dramatically improved. More content instead of clicking a board and travel to a really small area, kill a few random mobs and go back to get 3 gold, it just aint exciting.

Gearing, especially for light and medium armor need to be greatly improved.

Content of DLC's needs to be more than 30-45 minutes of gameplay, and consist of more gearing for other classes than massive armor warriors.

more skills on a specialisation, and restrict to 1 max 2 specialisations (last one for awakening).

If people buy a DLC, dont make it obsolete when you make an expansion. New game = no DLC from another game, expansion = the same game continued.

If you are a ranger, and want to be good natured. You have to "forget" to save a girls life on purpose if you want to have the best bow in the game.

The best items should be found and not bought from stores (Far Song, Felon's coat, a variety of rings to name a few).

Make more quests like The gaxkang (unbound) one, just involve more fighting, and plot twists to get to him.

limit the "rare" drops and encounters. this is a single player, not a MMORPG. Im not saying remove it completely, but there should be a fair chance to get the best items.

alternative ways of opening chests and doors are lacking completely in this game. What happened to the mage spells and the scrolls? Or brute force to crack them open.

fully upgraded sneak is pretty hillarious. you can just disapear 2 feet infront of your enemy with him engaged to you.

Failed to impress?

The villain - no hidden and slowly revealed motivations and plots (Jon Irenicus I'm looking at you)

DLC and promo items being so much higher powered than standard ones

Mages not being tied into a realm in the way warriors and (to an extent) rogues were.

Sidequests being one location with one or two fights and that was it.

All your work for the -an organisation you help- not actually helping you in the final battles.

Hm well, DA:O itself didn't "impress" me, it was more like a return to a familiar and loved place (I'm talking about BG), I'm not sure if that counts as impressive though.

But if I really, really had to choose, then I'd say mage clothes/robes/hats...

Well ok, graphics didn't really impress me, but that's not really important for a great game.

Story was nice, could have been better though. It's too much like Lord of the Rings, not enough like pre-LOTR-movies RPGs. That'd be my biggest disappointment I guess. As much as I love Tolkien and the work done by Peter Jackson, their influence on other was way too big.

By the last 9 pages that I have read, there a lot of work to be redux on this game to make it perfect, and I agree with 95% of all the PCs but this ain't a perfect world and I just try to cope with the lack of quests and side quests( Names of the Fallens in Soldier's Peak,Black Fox......)started yet unfinish...!!!!!!
