Because a single event, being the smallest measurement withing a group of people, is the equivalent of a "point" within a coordinate system. And it is the summation (integral) of the continuous occurrence of these that makes up a person. This summation serves to demonstrate and quantify the characteristics of these events.

That is to say that a person is the summation of his/her relationships (along with with the sum of the events in his/her life that don't involve other people) with other people. This implies that relationships have distinct characteristics in their overall effect on individuals. According to your criteria, this means that relationships definitively exist.

But the relatiohsips are nothing more than a collection of individual events. Why not describe the effect on individuals as the result of these constituent parts rather that positing the existence of relationships?

"Relationship" can still be a useful label - a name - despite not being a thing. But you seem to want it to be a thing, and that's not necessary.

It's not so much a "why" as it is an observation. People observe existence, they do not generate it. As opposed to "necessity," it's simply recognizing through logical demonstration what something is.

Saying it's a "collection" is another way of saying that the effect of the relationships are quantified by taking the summation. Which is something that is logically (mathematically) thoroughly defined as demonstrating characteristics.

If it's just "another way of saying" it, then we're agreed. You're using "relationship" simply as a label. It exists in name only. This is entirely consistent with my nominalist position.

Are you acknowledging that it also exhibits characteristics?

Ok these are something more annoying than lack of impressions as I get closer to finishing the game.

1. Not being able to delete saves in the game. (x-box 360). I always like to be able to use multiple saves for a game and then delete all the “junk” saves.

2. The incredibly loud screeching for summoning pet spiders or the spiders showing up in encounters. Who decided that giving a giant spider any kind of noise like this needs to be locked in a room full of people scratching fingernails down blackboards. “Oh look a giant spider, lets give it the most annoying noise we can think of every time one shows up in the game.” What is this, a ’50’s era giant insect film?

3. Escort Missions. I’m doing Something Wicked right now and I really wish Ser Otto would actually be added as a 5th party member so I can see his health a lot easier. This would work in any other escort mission like this that I may have missed or just happened not to get them killed in.

4. From my earlier posting in here. The lack of a group storage box in your camp is annoying as hell. Even the one at Soldiers Peak can be a chore to go to when your after certain things like ingredients for potions. Its bad enough that its bugged a bit when items you put in it don’t stack correctly.

Independently of the characteristics exhibited by its constituent parts?  No, I don't accept that.

Why does it matter if it's independent of the constituent parts? Interdependency is a huge part of many many logical assertions.

Let's see...

the typical (these gaming days that is) dumb AI of your partners in combat (you know, like this warrior of yours set on aggressive but who stands still after killing one guy, even though he is surrounded by 5 more, or the healer just not healing you while tactics set right, these kind of things). Micromanaging is ok, but when you set tactics right and have to correct partners behavior, that's just bad.

Another thing which is good and which isn't. Free roaming so to speak. It's great because non linear, but on the other end, you are supposed to be rushed because of an incoming invasion, yet you can spend insane time doing sidequests instead of going for your main goal (which is to reunite the 4 factions). In context, it removes the tension of the said invasion. I found myself wondering why I was losing time sometimes, doing this or that when important goals awaited me. Yet I hate linearity, and I acknowledge how good the storytelling is done here (as in many BW games).

Lack of equipment design besides the crafting materials (most armors look the same beside their texture look). Lack of time? Lazy job? Thankfully, mods are a great thing if you can play this game on PC.

And of course, to finish, the many bugs, still not fixed as of this day... Almost feels like playing a Bethesda game (which I like too).

The lack of explicitness in terms of sex is what failed to impress me.
