Admiral Gerrel = Loghain with Quarian warble

Admiral Koris sounded very familiar as well.

I'm 100% sure I recongise Koris voice from another recent game, I just can't quite place it. part of my brain insists Howe from Dragon Age but I have a hard time believing Tim Curry wouldn't be credited

Is the same actor that voiced Avernus in the Warden´s Keep DLC, the whole quarian side quest felt like a Dragon Age reunion!

Indeed, but they still would a UK accent of some sort. Ada m baldwin doesn't even remotely sound like anything aside from a redblooded Midwestern American.

Would i be possible that different accents begin to develop on different ships? It doesn't take long for sperate groups to develop different accents.

Take into account that Quarians spend different amounts of time on Pilgrimage as well. A person that lives in America for the early parts of thier life and teen years will eventually start developing an accent if he moved to the UK for a long time.

Also take into account that Quarians probably had different accents on their planet already.

Asari, Salarians and Turians have been seen with different accents. I haven't seen Volus or Batarians with different accents though. And Hanar and Elcor make sense to not differ in accents considering their culture.

British-sounding ones on the Admiralty Board, American (Midwestern, I would say) from that one credit-chit one on the Citadel, East Coast American from the Ilium Quarian (unless I'm terribly mistaken), Adam Baldwin as Kal'Reegar, the "Mommy loves you" Quarian (also American or Canadian sounding to me) from the log on the Alarei...

This. The OP saying that "every Quarian VA uses Tali's accent except him", he might as well not have played the game at all.

Excellent points.

Also just gotta throw it out there while Adam Baldwin has done great things with Firefly and Serenity, as well as Chuck. His biggest roll was Animal Mother from Full Metal Jacket.

To the topic at hand, I did find his voice a little "immersion breaking" because I recognized it so well knowing that he'd be in the game. However it didn't bother me about the lack of accent.

I was about to mention this, but I wouldn't call Animal Mother his biggest role.  He didnt really become a household name until he started appearing on TV regularly (i.e. Firefly, Chuck, Angel, etc..).  Animal Mother wasn't even really a main cast member of the film.  He doesnt make his first appearance until well after half the film has played.
To be honest, I think it was meant to be immersion breaking.  Alot of the VAs in the game had to have been picked, solely for their basis in sci-fi/fantasy already.  They are meant to be heard and identified.  It makes it that much more entertaining for those of us that are fans of the genre holistically.
Personally, I got a kick out of hearing Baldwin ingame whether it fit or not.  Same can be said about Claudia Black (Farscape, Stargate SG-1), Tricia Helfer (BSG), Seth Green (Buffy), Carrie Ann Moss (Matrix), etc..

Adam Baldwin is too badass to need an accent.

Besides, no, not all the quarians had the accent.

Admiral Morrigan didn't, and neither did Admiral Loghain.

edit: and a bunch of others people already mentioned.

"Mal, we got REAPERS!"

Now, all we need is Nathan Fillian and Alan Tudyk to do quarian VO's too. ;)

There are apparently American quarians, pseudo-slavic quarians, English quarians, and perhaps even some hispanic quarians

No wonder they say they're the most humanoid out of all the aliens

There's even a captain in Ascension that they repeatedly refer to as Captain Mal

'Cuz, you know... There can't possibly be more than one accent within a given species.

Adam Baldwin, you didn't watch the cast video I assume? As to his performance it was pretty average but good considering that that was probably his first voiceover job.

Quarians have varied accents, they aren't all eastern-european sounding, guess it depends on the ship.

yeah admiral Loghain didn't have Tali's accent. it bugged me he was on Tali's side, that voice evokes hatred for me.

also as to Adam Baldwin's bigger roles, he was a recurring bad guy on the X files for a few seasons, Noel Rore i believe was his name and he was a super soldier. his part in Firefly was probably the best though, god that show was awesome.

Does anyone know what is up with Kal'Reegar's voice actor? Is he secretly human or something, because every Quarian VA uses Tali's accent except him. The performance is incredibly dull, lacks any nuance, and it sounds like the VA just couldn't be bothered to put on a fake accent of any sort. Most of the human characters sound less American than him!

"Every other Quarian VA uses Tali's accent"? What, you failed to notice the fact that practically all Quarians have different accents? Veetor was also American, Xen was Claudia Black (Australian + English), Gerrel and Zoris were English, and Raan was Iranian. Tali has an Eastern European accent, Prazza had a Russian accent.

Also, you did not just badmouth Adam Baldwin on this board. Watch Firefly and get a clue, the man is a living legend.

Technically it doesn't even make *sense* that they would have accents since they are all speaking in Quarian and we're hearing their translated voice through the <babel fish-technobabble-translator microbes> in our helmets. But Tali has such a cute accent I am willing to overlook this otherwise fatal flaw that totally ruins my immersion into... yeah ok, can't keep a straight face.

He's the man they call Jayne!

That is all you need to know.

Really? I knew Adam Baldwin was in the gane, but not which character he was playing or that it would somehow suck this badly.

Confess, you're a troll right?

Adam Balwin? Suck?

I believe using those two words in the same sentence violates an english rule.

Just to remind you all, Nathan Fillion voiced a fairly major character (Gao I think) in Bioware's "Jade Empire".

The Quarians wouldn't all sound the same because they all came from different places on their home planet maybe? If you evacuated our planet we would still all be different, and would most likely separate our ships along ethnic lines. Especially the French >.<

I thought he did an awesome job. Kal'Reegar was the only in-game Quarian who wasn't a total deadweight/moron and therefore his BA voice standing out fit perfectly.
