Toss up between Templar and Champion for me. Going to wait till we get some more info on Champion before I decide.
Being a mage squisher sounds entertaining though.

My dwarfen Noble has always dreamed of purging these annoying wizards, so yes.

My second play through, good chance i'll be a templar.

Never. The templars are the footsoldiers of an evil and oppressive religious cult that considers mages to be glorified slaves.

Might be an interesting choice for a dwarf that despises magic. I'll have wait and see, though, how much they turn out to be on the paladin-like-side

your right maybe it will because real life paladin did go around killing people like how templer do to mages. everything that went aginst they reoigious was killed. i hope it doesn't go that way

Not for my first run, but I'm thinking about a dwarven noble templar for my second run.

for my first run it's going be a human noble templar. Human rule all

Yeah, probably templar as well, especially if the magic Grey Warden Commander armor in Warden's Keep DLC is Templar specific.
Is it too much to have two templars in the party? Alistair and I.

Not sure, definately a warrior though...
How do you take the specialization?
There is no mention in the character creation tool of specializations so i assume this is something you can chose as you level up? Like Prestige classes in NWN2?
It is it quest based? you have to do something specific to become a Templar?

At least some of the specializations are quest-based, perhaps all 12 of them. They remain unlocked in subsequent playthroughs without getting them again, however. So the first time you, say, find the reaver specialization in teh game you're already level 8 (you select them at lvls 7 and 14) and select it after completing the quest. The next game you can choose it immediately when you reach level 7.

Depends on how the points are going, would like to spec full sword shield, warrior skills and then look at what's out there.
I like the principle of a templar, but without seeing what Champion details it is too close at the moment.

Nah, my least favourite of the warrior specs, maybe my second warrior gets it.

As good as my dwarf would look in the Order's armor, I'll pass. Berserker for me.

i'm guessing no one really like templer that much

I plan to try to open up the templar AND Champion specializations, and then I'll see the talents choices to see which I'll buy up. Might be both.

Keep bundling back to NWN2 and the Neverwinters Nine class. I like the leader of the army role so as I think about it more maybe Champion... Gah! might see what people in the forums drag up on their skills.

Templar seems unpopular compared to all the others. It's understandable, not many people want to make characters that are good against primarily one type of enemy. Of course that's not to say they can't kick butt with the best of them, but the focus is clear.
My human male's gonna be reaver/champion and my dwarf chick's gonna go berserker/champion.
