First off, I have no idea what type of sound card I have, it simply says "High Definition Audio Device". And I've tried switching from software to hardware and vice versa with no noticeable changes.

I've also attempted to change the maxchannels inside the BioEngine.ini to 64 but it was already set on 64 when I opened it.

The problem? The sound seems to jump and crackle intermittently. Dialogue with Shephard can be especially annoying since there are instances when the commander's dialogue isn't given time to finish, or it cuts off a miniscule chunk from the beginning of the sentence.

If anyone can help, I'd be extremely grateful.

PC Specs:
OS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core i7 CPU 965 @ 320GHz 3.33 GHz
RaM: 3 GB
Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 295
Audio: High Definition Audio Device
DirectX: Unsure, latest probably

I have the same problem but haven't had enough time with it to figure out a fix. For now whenever it happens I've just been saving then restarting the game. (I'm running a Creative X-Fi)

change your over clock settings to either normal or automatic. Inorder to do so restart your comp. Hold the delete key to enter the bios. Then change all the clock settings to normal. It's the overclocking thats screwing this the audio.

Not if you aren't overclocking like myself.

I tried toggling a specific setting from Turbo to Standard, since all the "clock" labels were already on auto or disabled, and a brief test seems to indicate that the problem is gone. Of course, it took awhile to start last time. Either way, thanks KroganRogue and I hope you manage to resolve your own issue TormentedPhoenix.

An onboard one. Unfortunately, beside microsoft calling it "High Definition Audio Device", I have no idea what type it might be.

I'm gunna try something tonight when I get home. I had to do it to ME1 when I had sound issues. If it works for me I'll pass along what I did here.

Darkest Dreamer, do you know what type of motherboard you have and look it up on manufacturers website? If its not a Dell or something its a good chance its a Realtek sound chipset.
