Hello,

I have got the following problem. I won't to install Mass Effect 1 on my new Windows 7 64 Bit System.
After putting in the Serialnumber the installation always gets cancelled. :pinched:

Is there any solution for this Problem?

My System:
Gygabyte 965P-DS3P Mainboard
4 GB of Ram
Radeon 5770
Core 2 Quad Q6700 CPU

Did you install using the "run as admin" option?

Installed ME1 recently on Win 7-64 without any problems at all. You sure you got the serial right and there are any activations left on it?

go to the folder that it installed and try look for a error fill

Yes, a few important things to check:

- make sure windows 7 UAC is turned off (go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> change User Account Control setting -> drag slider all the way to the bottom

- make sure your antivirus is disabled during the install as some AV's may interfere with the install process

- make sure the Mass Effect has access to the internet, if needed (can't remember if ME1 needed it but the DLC Bring Down the Sky definitely did)

- make sure to start the setup manually, so close down the autorun window, go to DVD drive, open the disc, r-click on Setup.exe and select Run as Administrator

and something I found out the hard way:

- if you're using an application called Process Explorer, shut it down before starting the installation (although this was only an issue during the DLC for me, it sounds like your symptoms are the same mine, so it's worth a shot)

Hi,

UAC is disabled.
I've got connection to the internet and I ran the installation as admin.
I'm using setup.exe to install.

I'afraid there is no folder Mass Effect, becaus the installation gets cancelled before starting to create
any files.

Previously I used win xp and win vista 64 and the installation went smooth.

But thanks for the hints until now.

I hoper there is something I can do.

If anyone is still having problems with this, I copied all the content from the disc, ran setup.exe. and installed it perfectly
