Just as the title says--how does saving the Council affect the game in ME2? I just completed my first run-through of ME2, and I want to go again through a different ME1 profile, but in this one I saved the Council, and I'm just wondering how it all affects the game.
How does saving the Council in ME1 affect ME2?

I've saved the Council every time I played through ME1. I've watched people play ME2 who have not saved the council, I've noticed that some aliens are more anti human. Also I think it might reflect some of your codec entries when it comes to recent history.

Depending on your choices in the first game, the Turian merchant (forgot which store he owns) either likes you because humanity saved the council and were heralded as heroes or you let the council die and got a full human council he has a certain disdain for you and any humans.

Generally though it doesnt really show ingame aliens trust humanity more. We may even be granted a place in the Peacekeeping Fleets with the Turians.
And the old Council knows you so they reinstates you as Spectre.

Though the old Council (don't know about the new) think you're delusional, there are no Reapers (there was 'no proof' that Sovereign wasn't built by the Geth, idiots) and the Turian even says your mind cracked under the probe's influence. Jerk. I wanna get a chance to punch HIM in the mouth.
