 While doing the quest for Liara where you are given the task to find the observer is it possible to get it right?

I have selected the vorcha, salarian, turian, batarian, and krogan and gotten it wrong every single time. However it states that they are all male, and I believe the observer is female.

Is this mission doomed form the start?

you need to find (hack) the 5 data terminals first then you get a choice about all males no female. their the orange computers scattered around illium

I had this problem too call Liara and tell her none of them fit the list.

I have found and hacked all 5 terminals. Afterwards I have chosen all the options and Liara still told me I was wrong.

You have to choose "None of them fit". You only get this option if you've unlocked all the terminals.

Because I have hacked all of them successfully on the first try and I didn't get that option. Maybe a bug? Ill try again.

I'ts been over 2 weeks now, so I dunno if you figured it out yet or not, but anywhoo...here's the explanation I got when checking out an ME2 walk-through after  screwing up on the hacking side quest the first time:


Head downstairs from Liara's room and look towards the left corner to findthe first one. After hacking it, you'll gain info from Data Point 5. Next, movestraight a little to the left, towards the kiosk to hack the next terminal forData Point 4. Now head straight again, towards another kiosk, and hack theterminal for Data Point 1. Head towards Eternity Bar and hack the large blue holo-board just before youget to the staircase leading up to get Data Point 3. Head up the stairs toEternity Bar and hack the terminal near the bartender for Data Point 2. Nowmake your decision about who to kill based on the information. The correctone to kill is:

You need to kill the secretary in order to have correctly identified the Observer. Use the middle-right option.
