How many hours of gameplay...?

Or, in other words, if your first (and probably only) playthrough of DA:O took more than 100 hours, can ME2 provide at least 50? 70?
I'm asking because I've read something about 30 hrs. for a typical playthrough. Would that mean 60 hrs. for us slow-pokes or is that too optimistic?

If you clock in at 60+ hours you suck at the game.
Or maybe some just like to go through and make sure they get everything. You can thank these kind of people for finding easter eggs and special junk that the devs throw in.
I haven't gotten the game yet either (reminder: free shipping is slow) but I was curious about the same thing.

I'm talking about people who like to play slowly, compare stats of shop items, explore everything, get to know all the squadmates... not the people who have to reload every fight 10 times because they "suck at the game" (or are playing the insane difficulty).

yup I have a LONG way to go from what i hear. I suspect I will be done after the 40 hr mark possibly at the rate I am going. I ahve had ME2 since day 1 and I have no doubt even ppl in europe who have the game just now will beat me to the end.

hey now, some of us like to stop and stare at the designs of the worlds or read all the info in the codex and the planets when scanning.
its a huge game and the first play through gives you the freshest feel so i try to make it last as long as i can becasue after that (and a few more times through) we all have to wait 2-3 years until ME3 lol

I couldn't agree more, these people that are claiming to have beat everything in 20 hours or so, OK fine, but they are taking serious short cuts, there is no question about it, fast forwarding through dialogue, playing on casual, not doing many tech projects or mining, whatever, but they are definately missing chunks of content, and that's fine, people can play it however they want.
However, I agree, people that take their time and explore the maps, look at the scenery, take conversations and releationships to the fullest. Those people are getting the most out of the game, and it certainly doesn't mean they suck just because they want to enjoy a great game for as long as they can on a playthrough.
It really comes down to how much you want to immerse yourself in the game, if you want to mine resources and do every tech project, shop the universe for your room personalizations, customize your armor designs and all that you can literally double your playtime just by how much you do those sorts of things and how long you wander around looking at the sites and how long you flesh out conversations and such.

Well said.
I'm one of those people who spend over 100 hours in DA:O and over 50 in ME1 in a single carreer. These were first playthroughs though, as i didn't want to miss anything, and like exploring.
Second playthroughs are always faster as you know where to go, and know what you can skip.
And for those who think people that spend over ** hours in it suck at the game, go troll somewhere else, your not adding anything to the community

By not doing everything the first time, I allow for possible surprises and a semi-fresh feeling the next time I play. But that is just me...
If you want to put in 100hrs in your first time all power to you, that's awesome. If you want to blast through it in 20 hours, hey, go for it.
But hopefully the majority of people will agree with me in saying that you don't play ME for its shooter elements, or you don't play it for its RPG elements. you play for the story, you play for the drama that Bioware has created and it's the best story I have ever played and experienced.
