To the OP:
I'm 25hrs in, I have all but 1 squad mate, and have done almost all the side quests. I have most of the upgrades I have acquired thus far.
1 thing you'll need to know is that you can't really compare stats on items. The inventory system is very different and you may want to read around more before deciding if you're going to purchase the game.
How many hours of gameplay...?

First playthrough doing main quest, some planet scanning and all of the team quests, I beat it in 27+ hours. I'm on second playthrough and I am being completely thorough. I predict I may hit 40+ hours. I play shooters very, very well and I am an all around gaming vet.

20hrs, all except 2 team quests done. Some planetary scanning, and about 2-3 hours of paused game. So about 17-18hrs to complete the game.

Just finished, clocked in at 40 hours with all the side quests and planets done.

go scan all the planets and fully deplete them. That should add about 7-8 days to your total game play.
lol.
I think i am about half-way through at 16-18 hours.... or wherever you are forced to do the collector mission.

Not sure. But I'm just taking my time, there's no rush, and the second playthrough is never as fun as the first.

Im at ~31 hours with 10 of 11 squad members, and all of their loyalty missions done. I did 1 N7 mission, all the side missions i found so far (though its very possible i missed many). I talked to and fully fleshed out the conversations with nearly everyone i met (even the unnecessary people), talked to crew in between every mission, searched around during missions for upgrades, did some research and some resource probing, but definatley haven't explored more then say 25% of the galaxy. Im going to start my exploring now, before i start the final mission finish any upgrades, find more n7 stuff etc. I expect at least 40 hours when im done.

50 hours total to complete the game. Could have shaved an hour or two off that if I didnt leave the game on when getting something to drink or having a biological break or something to eat. That got me to every system/planet pretty much all upgrades and I would say 90% of all mission areas explored. On my second playthrough I would say its going to be less in terms of time - maybe 40 hours because I know how things work so less fumbled attempts and less time mining. Even so I have changed characters and there are some very subtle differences I have found that need exploring and could take the game time back up again.

Last game I played for 58 hours. I did all side quest, and I am planning on doing the same here.

I'm 26 hours in and I only have 1 teammate left to recruit and do their loyalty mission (tali) not counting recruiting Legion.... however you do that. lol
I NEVER read the planet info when scanning unless its a N7 mission planet or side quest planet. I don't care about some random planet I'm just strip mining. lol
I also don't stand around and listen to the news casts and advertisements (unless I'm at the game store or randomly hear blasto's commercial). I'm just too impatient for that. I like doing everything I can in the game, but I don't like doing things like walking b/c I'm in a town. That just seems weird to me.
Anyway, my point is.... I'm not doing all that type stuff and I've still gotten 26 hours out of it and I'm not done with my first playthrough yet. So I could easily see 50 hours for those fans that like to stare out the windows and walk around town etc.

I completed the main quest in 23 hours, but I did skip a majority of the side quests unless they were very short being that I don't like being distracted during my first playthrough of the main story line. I also didn't really do much planet exploration or scanning, but I did do all the loyalty quest (game difficulty was set at normal).

I still have 3 squad members to pick up and I'm at 36 hours. I'm really thorough with everything.
Why do I doubt that.
That's exactly where I am (just finished Horizon) I play on insanity & only have about 15 or so hours played. I've depleted 5 clusters to the point where I have every possible upgrade & +100,000 for every resource (30,000 eezo), I make sure I scavenged every little section & always stray from the objective.Completed every sidequest, talked to everyone in the game thoroughly & personally (as in picked every option in the convo tree),died 3 times, bought every item from every store, only thing is that I haven't looked at any of my codex's.
If you have that much time & are as thorough & cautious as moi...then you downright SUCK!

I'm at 16 hours, and have two more squad members to go, but have barely touched the side quests, as I've only done a few loyalty missions on only about four out of the nineteen N7 missions, so I think I'll be spending at least 30 on my first playthrough.

I just got the last Loyalty misson done, Legions. I have everything ready for the Suicide Misson, might just get a few more upgrades before i go. Unfortunatly, the only person who isn't loyal is Jack (Sub Zero) because of a little incident... so she will probably die. At the moment i'm at about 26 hours.

Learn2play imo. I beat the game on two insanity playthroughs in under 5 hours TOTAL. I literally talked to every NPC, completed every quest, balanced the Cerberus budget, mined over 9000-million units of EVERYTHING, used only melee attacks, never used the Normandy for transportation (real men walk through space) *and* I played with my monitor turned off.
If this game takes you longer than 30 mins to beat without doing all the things I did above then you just fail at life.

Took me 42 hours for literally everything. Exactly the same as my first ME1 playthrough.
