I go slow, really explore the dialogue options and all that. Currently, I am at 16 games hours playing my first game on Veteran, have half my squad left to actually pick up and am now just getting to the inital 'loyaly' missions for Miranda, Jacob, etc. Not going any slower than the first game, so I see this being a 40 hour game for me...LOTS of missions left to do. I do not see how beating the main missions in 20 is even possible on the inital playthrough. That is amazing......I wonder how much stuff some of you may have missed

Example, little stuff: if you do not explore the lower level of Afterlife, and ask for a drink from that bartender, you will not experience a little mission of revenge....lots of little missions that really add to the experience. That's what I am loving beside just the main missions!!!!!

one playthrough for me should end up around 35 hours



however, I plan on doing four playthroughs, so I'll end up well over 100 hours total for this game.

... I am now at 40 hours and still 3 stories missing for my crew and still 3 crewmembers not on board ... I am scanning every planet until it is depleted and doing all dialoges and reading them (what isn't so easy, as my native language isn't english) ... turning every stone around ...

as a comparsion, I needed around 150h for Dragon Age, but didn't missed there anything !

That's exactly where I am & the same hours played. What level are you? I'm level 8.

I've got about 23 hours in so far, and I still need to recruite tali and 1 other. I've only done 4 of the loyalty quests out of 11, and a few side quests. I've done one N7 mission, and I've heard there are 19. I think I've still got a while to go, but I like to go slow and enjoy it on my first run through

I've recently gone through Mass Effect 1 listening to every line of dialogue available and reading every codex entry, doing every mission, on normal and it took me 23 hours. How long will ME 2 take?

I'm at 22 hrs, still missing 3 crew members, still have 3 loyalty quests from the first lot of crew mates to complete. I just love exploring systems and looking for the N7 quests, as well as re-visiting shops for their new items.

I got about 29.5 I did all the squad members quests and a few outside ones, I would have done more but I accidently passed the point of no return with the IFF so basically had to beat out the story.

Um... Dragon Age WAS NOT a 100 hour game at all. It's about a 40-50 thorough hour game.



If you are very thorough, Mass Effect 2 is about 35-45 hours. I got 41 hours in my first play through and I've a couple quests left. Dragon Age first file was about 37 hours. It's all about how many extra quests you do.

First playthrough: 30 hours on veteran, all main and side missions done, almost all upgrades acquired (damn eezo) but without reading planet blurbs or codex. Playthrough 2 I'll do everything, on insanity.

Reference: Dragon Age completed in 28 hours first time through, Mass Effect 1 in 15.

First play through on normal took me 43 hours. I stopped and did a lot of side quests, mined a bunch of planets, I think I ended the game with over 300,000 Iridium for example. So it's quite a long game, plus there's tons of ways to play it, re-playability is insane for this game. Just enjoy yourself and try not to worry about the time, go at your own pace.

I'm asking because I've read something about 30 hrs. for a typical playthrough. Would that mean 60 hrs. for us slow-pokes or is that too optimistic?

(This is with listening to all dialogue and completing all the missions, but no mineral-mining or planet-scanning)

Dragon Age: Origins with original DLC: 72 hours
Mass Effect 1 with BDtS DLC: 32 hours
Mass Effect 2 with Zaeed DLC: 41 hours
Mass Effect 2 with all DLC: 46 hours
