i just finished my first play-throught with my ME1 character, and in ME1 i let the council die, but when i create a new character to play again in ME2, it seems the option by default is that i let them die, never gives me the choice... kinda disappointed, i no longer have my ME1 game so i can't replay through it jsut to see different council optinos
