Is this thing real or a myth? Supposedly you can pick it up during Tali's recruitment.

I've only done her mission once so I could of missed it, however I'm still skeptical.

For me it's a rumor so far... however I read if you play on hardcore or insanity during her recruitment, you get a gift... who knows if its true .

I believe I got the research design from Legion's personal quest, but I may be mistaken. It was near to the end of my game anyway.

You get a research project by scanning a geth pulse rifle on Tali's mission, i think it was. It just adds 10% damage to you Assault Rifle.

Theres a geth sniper rifle, but thats about it.

(Upgrade you get for Legion is the Widow sniper rifle but is called Geth Sniper rifle in the upgrade menu.)

Tested it from an Adept Veteran playthrough, switched to hardcore on the normandy before landing on the recruitment mission, cleared it and it was in the same room tali is.

Makes you wonder what else is there for a Hardcore playthrough, I'm starting a new one now, and after that an insanity one (although not as Vanguard hehe).

Don't worry, the only difficulty-exclusive item is the geth pulse rifle. I recently completed an insanity 100% playthrough and that's the only thing that was different from casual/normal.

Also I find the pulse rifle to be a bit sucky anyway, so if you miss it you're not missing much. Its fire rate follows a trigonometric wave so it'll go really fast one second and slow the next, and it does pretty low damage but higher damage to shields. It's fully automatic.

I mostly found the vindicator and revenant to be superior

I can confirm you get the Geth Pulse Rifle on Tali's recruitment mission, at least on Insanity, and I'm told Hardcore too.

Yes, it's real. I got it on Tali's recruitment mission on hardcore. It's in the room Tali is in at the end of it.

Yes there is a pulse rifle in talis quest. I have just been playing hard core and I found it not long ago. Didn't find it when I played normal or veteran.

Do Tali's Dossier mission (one on Haestrom) on either hardcore or insanity difficulty and the geth pulse rifle will appear in the final room of the mission (the one where you meet Tali)



personally I never used it, preferred Revenant for my main and vindicator for squadmates

if your playing as a vanguard...saving the crates is a right pain...with the geth puls rifle, whack out the shields, whip out the cain, and **** all over the YMIR mechs...and yknow, take tali with you...hacky hacky but yeah...ive found it better for what i use it for, simply because i knock out shileds and barriers, then charge and shotgun to the face...shame i now cant get the claymore shotty, but meh, AR is more use for my play style

It is only available on the mission on Hardcore or higher difficulty settings as posted by others above.

It's nice for taking down shields but the vindicator, collector, and/or revenant are much better ARs.

I got it in Tali's recruitment mission on Insanity. I had Legion with me at the time but I'm not sure if that had to do anything with it.

It's an upgrade to the Avenger and that is about it...



The only use I see would be from a squadmate point of view, if you would rather have your squadmate's spreading bullets instead of shooting in bursts, this is what to give them. Other than that you should be using Vindicator or Revenant depending on your preference.



Why is Haestrom the only planet with a reward like this on higher difficulties?

nah, legion being there doesnt matter, so long as your on hardcore or higher, then your fine, its in tali's room of gloom lol, shame you cant get it BEFORE tali...so you can waste the armatures shields
