When you learn the Collectors are altered protheans. Suddenly that mission from ME1 where you find the gold sphere and have a vision of a prothean ship testing pre-civilization humans on earth becomes a lot more important, and you start to understand why the Collectors are after humans.
Were the protheans doing tests during that point really protheans or were they collectors? Also, cause of the similarity of collectors to tradiation UFO 'little grey men' - brought the whole mythos home to a more X-files place. The notion that the collectors have had their eye on humanity for a long time.

Agreed, wow. And that feeling of desperation when you get knocked free, you see the air escaping your suit, Shep's obviously freaking out as s/he starts to drift from the Normandy, and then it gets blown to hell. Then watching your body slowly stop moving as you fall and begin to burn up in the planet's atmosphere, and a single, depressing piano chord plays. MASS EFFECT 2.Zentrasi wrote...
Honestly? The first 10 minutes. Most epic death scene of a game avatar yet. I loved how it felt agonizing to crawl your way across the battered deck, with the gaping of maw of space above you, to reach Joker and save him.
Also, using the nuke launcher for the first time. God damn. I was not expecting it to be so powerful.

The graphics.... from the first convo in the shuttle after escpaing the Cerberus lab, blew my mind! It was also little things too, like sharing a bottle of wine with Dr. Chakwas, and playing cards with Daniels and Gabby
So many little things and decisions that I put on the backburner after I played ME1

2.) Very end, the human reaper was so cool every second it was there.

Also, does anybody else wonder why the reapers would fell it necessary to wipe out a species of space cuttlefish? i mean if they take on the form of those used to make them, the victims from the time Sovereign was built actually were sentient cuttlefish. Curious.

The entire final mission. I was fearing I would lose someone the entire time, trying to get to the core, and finally coming across the unfinished reaper. Wow.

The Cuttlefish were the first species to be mechanized imo. There's too many CuttleReapers to explain it any other way. Probably the same species as the Leviathan of Dis (if that isn't purely a Farscape easter egg).

Yeah, I was pretty down when Thane died. Also, Miranda almost falling off that ledge was tough to watch. I was like "NO!".
