I chose to keep the base. I always thought the illusive man was suspicious but it seemed he had proved himself to me towards the end. I also thought this was a major advancement for humanity. Im now questioning how this will effect my ME3 game...
Did I make the wrong ending decision (MAJOR SPOILERS)

Even on my renegade Shepard I didn't think it would be a great idea. It just seems like a HUGE risk using reaper technology.

Just do it again and choose the alternative. Not hard.

Post-game your squadmates think it was a bad decision. I myself blew up the base because I have no desire for TIM and Cerberus to dominate the galaxy.

As Mordin said about the Krogans. We gave them technology above their understanding, was like handing cavemens a nuclear warhead and a trigger.
The same applies to Reaper tech. We are not ready for that, especially not Cerberus.

this was pretty much my general reaction too.
ya, when i saw the illusive man wanting it, i was like "oh hell no!!!" you saw what happened when you put a small IFF into the normandy. god forbid cerberus got their hands on an entire base built and based upon reaper/prothean technology. he may have humanities interests at heart, but, i wouldnt trust any man with it.

Giving them the base is like dropping off a nuclear weapon at Bin Ladens Cave.
