I did. I was wondering if you warn him you dont get Garrus' loyalty. Is that true?

Edit: I went back and loaded a save which was only like 10 minutes and I didnt let him take the shot. I did that because that guy might be in the third game.

No, I didn't. I didn't want him to go through with a revenge killing. If you keep blocking his shot, your Shep can finally say, "let it go Garrus, just look at him" and then steps aside letting him make the final decision. He'll later acknowledge that he could still see good in Sidonis and he just couldn't take that shot. I felt good about that; makes me feel that the old Garrus is still there, buried under tough experiences and heavy burdens, that he still has a good heart.

I didn't. Sidonis said he would make it up to Garrus someday. I honestly think something will happen in ME3 that will involve Sidonis possibly saving Garrus or something if they choose to carry this over.

I warned Sidonis all the way to the end and got Garrus to stand down. (Which IMHO was a far more intense yet satisfying result)

He still remains loyal either ending you chose.

You get his loyalty either way. I stood in the way the entire time and talked him down from it and still got it.

I blocked the way and let him go.

Still, it unlocked Garrus' loyalty and his skill.

Really?  Huh, I should have tried that.  I thought for some reason my reasoning w/ him in the cab failed.

The cool thing about garrus is that he's your bro regardless of what happens, he respects your decisions. Hell its your decisions that got him out of the first game alive.

I let him take the shot, figured why not. I kill hundreds of mercs for less then what Sidonis did.

I let him take it. I tend to agree with Garrus's reckless vigilantism. Sardonis(Sadonis?) got what was coming to him. He got more than a few people who trusted him killed, so one bullet is about as much justice as you'll get from him.

Maybe i'll let the bugger live on my next playthrough to see what happens with that.

I let him shoot Harkin in the knee-cap and take the shot, my Shep is ruthless like that <_<

I did, oddly enough since I'm mostly paragon. But Garrus wooed me with his...Garrusness so I let him do pretty much whatever he wanted.

I've only gone through one playthrough so far, but in the cab I kept mentioning how unlike him this was, and asking if he was okay.  That sort of thing.  I even stopped him from shooting Harkin. :P Cracked me up when he whacked the guy and was all, "well I didn't shoot him."  ME2 Garrus rocks. XD

Don't worry, though, you'll earn his loyalty either way. :)

I couldn't let him. Garrus was a good kid, I couldn't let him go completely ver the edge.

i was kind of surprised though that even though i let garrus take the shot, i didnt gain any renegade points for it.

I let him do it because I was afraid of blowing the loyalty quest if I didn't.

I let him shoot him.

I didn't really care about Sidonis.

I went back and saved him. Only took like five minutes. If Sidonis come back in ME3 then that five minutes will have been worth it.

I didn't let him take the shot, not that I didn't think that Sidonis didn't deserve to be shot down like a dog. I didn't do it for his sake, I did it for Garrus. I don't think he would have forgiven himself if he had, and my Shep was afraid he'd slide all the way down the dark slope of becoming a Saren, a Nihlus, or even a Zaeed.

She taught him once that everyone deserves a chance at redemption, he just needed to be reminded of it. And in the end, she made the right decision by her best friend and teammate.

My mentality on the loyalty missions is that it was their mission, and they had command. Not officially of course, so if we were doing anything too crazy, I'd interfere (Zaeed). I liked the whole passive role thing. It was a neat change of pace.

Don't even get me started on Zaeed's level of craziness.

And I wish the jerk would talk to me. That would be nice.
