Um...wow. I haven't seen anyone whose personality has shifted this radically from one game to the next since Yuna. In ME1 she can barely talk without tripping over her words, has little experience dealing with people, and is rather naive. Now she's running an intelligence network on one of the galaxy's busiest planets, ordering hits on people and giving unhappy clients her best Benezia impression. I still do a double-take when I hear "Liara" and "information broker" in the same sentence.

This made my Shepard extremely sad, and alot less guilty for falling for some of his femal crewmates.

And all because the Shadow Broker was responsible for killing one of her friends, too. Who was it, anyway?

I didn't mind that, bu what was up with the kiss (she was my romance) and then total amnesia bit? It's like they never had a romance at all. I was disappointed by that. Otherwise it's a great game, but that bit really felt wrong.

Kinda happy Liara turned out to be a mobster type, I always liked Tali's personality more and now I don't feel bad for leaving Liara behind. Completly different personality now.

Can tell alot of people did not get the full conversation from Liara. If you select the correct conversation options she'll reveal everything to you. Her whole obsession about the shadow broker isnt just because of her friend but what the SB was planning to do to Shepard. If you get to this converation she drops the whole cold/ruthless act and acts like normal Liara again for that convo.
I missed this convo my first playthrough and my reaction was pretty much like everyone else's. Then I got the full conversation 2nd playthrough and now I refuse to betray/cheat on Liara.

Yeah I got that too... I was hoping for more than a seemingly rushed kiss...
Wonder if its not to late to romance Jacob.... but I hate the whole cheating will bite you in ME3 thing

Honestly I was going to romance Miranda anyway (renegade Shep) so I didn't mind too much.

Liara is actually trying to get the shadow broker for Shephard. The Illusive man told her that the Shadow broker has to do with the Reapers and the collectors and she still loves you. She says she's looking for the shadow broker for shephard.(This is from the comic) There's also a secret dialogue in ME2 Liara Romance post that she explains a bit about the shadow broker.

I JUST got done talking to her, and our convo didn't seem as horrible as everyone is portraying.
I didn't get that conversation where she spills the beans just yet... did you get it right off the bat, or after you did all her missions for her? It seems like she wants to talk, she even said she wants to, but can't because she's being watched.
Seems like the shadow broker is lording something over her.
I'm sure the comic book series will tie into what's going on a little more.

That bugs me, Ashley seemed to pretty clearly end it with my character so how is it cheating? I hate how I'll be penalized for moving on from a clearly ended relationship (granted I would probably have moved on anyway, but still)

I didnt actually pick Liara, I picked both Ashley an Liara. It just so happened that she was the only 1 cool with that. My Shepherd is Polyamorus (sorry mixing languages
didnt want to say practices Polygyny)
