but why so much Oghren hate? if you think about it, implementing more important NPCs would have been pointless and very hard, since you can't really import the same character (intended as "persona"). Especially the romance options.
those that fit are: Oghren, Wynne, Dog, Sten (unless he returned to his homeland) and Shale. and who knows, this time they might be a romance option
I'd personally love some characters from "The Calling" (save the Architect, since he's already in, or at least it seems so), but oh well.

Also, it looks like he's traveling with his beard-braids undone.

Yeah, I watched the trailer a couple times and did some pausing. The beginning shot of the party has a red-headed dwarf in reddish armor (doesn't really look like Oghren to me, but whatevs). The next shot has a bald-headed human dude in reddish armor instead of the dwarf. Then there is someone in the front who might be The Warden, and two dudes in the back, a mage and a fighter, who look like your standard generic temporary-companion-types.Ginasue wrote...
Only saw Oghern in the first screen, In others, it was other people. Could be they just used the models that they had at the time to make the screen shots of it.
I am wondering if they've dummied in standard models for the promotional materials so as not to spoil story elements at this early stage.
More than likely..as for the redheaded dwarf being Ohgren..that some folks say...I think its wishful thinking really. And personal opinion is...we might all be surprised at who is returning..
Not wishing for Ohgren for sure, his character develeopment was very shallow in comparison to the other companions.

Urgh Oghren was the worst companion.
Oghren was awesome. Anyway you do know there will be a bunch of new companions right? I am sure you will like them.
Good riddance to Morrigan I say. Always complaining about my need to rescue kittens and help old ladies.

Yeesh, what's with the Oghren hate?
Every character in this game has a hate club. If it was Alistair the chorus of outrage would be far worse.
But anyway since you never have to use Oghren in the expansion, presuming you get him, I do not understand it. You will have new companions maybe they are the best companions ever.

EDIT: More Oghren is seen. But maybe he's in there to throw us? Or maybe they knew that we would think that and Oghren really is returning? But would they count on this to make it a double shock when he doesn't return? Oooh tricksy.

I doubt we see anything of Morrigan as she is busy raising her archdemon offspring. Can't imagine years have elapsed between the game and the expansion. Wardens only last 30 years before going crazy ^_~....

I wish the one returning would be Leliana, but somehow I think it will be Alistair, because the thrust of this expansion seems to be on rebuilding the Grey Warden forces. You and Alistair are the only wardens left in Ferelden. Therefore, it is likely you will need him for the joining selections.

Alistairs a little busy... ya know... fixing an entire kingdom and all.

yes Alistair is busy but remember that he is in the original trailer stating
how he kinda misses the whole dark spawn killing thing. So if only one returns
my money is on Alistair. but just because I feel like it I think I'll also add a
little wish list in case any Bioware workers read this.
The characters I want to see more time and development with would be:
1. Morrigan (she's a **** but the damaged goods kind of **** that you can
really fall for if you get to know her.)
2 or 3. Leliana (she is a tad simple minded from my view but she does make an interesting
romance.)
3 or 2. Alistair (He is the male simpleton but as a female char. he would be an
excellent love interest to continue developing.)
4. Wynne (She was old but a good maternal figure with great advise for our
fledging warden.)
5. Shale (She was a DL companion who had great dialog. More of the same would
be awesome)
6. Zevran (Didn't use him much but the constant flirting and inappropriate
advances did grow on me.)
7. Dog (Come on he's the pet of the game...enough said)
8. Oghren (Some of his lines were funny. He changed a lot if you developed a
dialog and it would be neat to see how he ended up between origins and
awakening.)
9. Sten (Not much dialog with him. You get his sword quest and that’s it....so I
wasn't very attached to him at all.)
10. Loghain (He joins you if you forgive him and not much char dev there. Most
games I'm sure he just dies so not much of a future story with that coward.)

Shale has the option to go off and try becoming mortal. Sten can go back home. Wynne would have been the only other canidate as likely to be the returning character. Either she become first enchanter, goes to tevinter with Shale, an advisor at the royal court, or dies at the urn/tower.

Dog should come back too. If not, I'll cry, he's just so cool.
