I really really really dream about getting a mech for the crew that I can take on missions. It doesn't have to be one of those characters you can talk to, but atleast upgrade and tinker with and so on. I just LOVE all the mechs in game. How about you guys?

What? How does that relate to what I said? I said nothing about coolness, the Geth is cool. But I'd still love a Mech character because they just make sense to have on the crew :)

It makes sense to have a couple of mechs on the crew just standing around on the ship perhaps.

But to take with you on away missions? This is a team of the finest and most elite warriors in the galaxy, and you want to take a generic security mech?

Sure, I'd do it. Just because I can. Like, for immersion, I'd not take anyone not wearing armor on missions where vacuum could be a threat. I'm a roleplayer really, not a FPS guru.

Yeah but then you'd complain about how he got his arm shot off in the first fight with a random vorcha, and now you've only got 1 party member. :P

What's his unlockable power going to be? Explode?

Play an Engineer and make drones. There's certainly no reason either RP-wise or gameplay-wise that making a regular security mech a full squad member would make sense. They aren't sentient (you already have the descendant of a quarian mech turned sentient AI with Legion), there's no reason they would learn new skills through experience, they can't hot swap gun loadouts because their 'guns' are attached directly to them... If generic mechs were in the game for Shepard to use they would act more like, well, Engineer security drones. Gameplay wise, they aren't gonna let you spend a few credits to have a much better version of the unique power of the Engineer class on other classes. Aside from the imbalances giving this power to already powerful classes would produce, it would make everyone who plays an Engineer really pissed :P

Legion is the robot character. I don't see how having a mech would be different, or make sense to the story.

I'd love to see one. Legion is the "robot" character, and by that logic should we only have 1 human character as well? a Mech would make sense and if you would like to take one or two with you by all means, why not. Anything that adds more options to the game makes it even more fun. And a mech was something I wanted from the first time I saw one.

You don't like one, that's fine, I don't like playing with Samara, but I still want her in the game as an option.

The only way I could see this happening would be if they did a surprise twist and brought back the Presidium AI-like he downloaded himself onto the extranet and procured a mech body for himself- and of course upgraded it severely.

He attacks you but if you have Legion in your party you can convince him that not all Humans wish to destroy or control synthetics and he'll join you. The convos between Presidium AI and Legion would be sweet.

Mechs are already there, working and used. It's a standard security unit that is used all over the place. If anything I'd say the Normandy should have 2 of them as standard equipment already, and even heavy ones in the cargo hold for more heavy duty missions. It could even add new mission types, like defense missions and similar.

More stuff, more options :)

Hey maybe we could get one of those little monkeys from tuchanka as a party member.

They would be about as useful as one of those barely armed C3PO's.

All enemies are weaker so that you're supposed to be able to kill them, mechs included. Having a mech on your team would of course not be as weak as your enemy mech. Be serious for a minute.

Yes, but I'm not talking about removing Legion, just adding a mech on top of the ones already there. I'd love to have a full Geth squad as well, but Legion is not the topic of discussion.

Sorry but a mech screams Space-Shale to me.

Seriously, those LOKI mechs would NEVER be powerful enough to be a party member.

Now, if you could somehow get a miniaturized version of the YMIR, upgraded with a real AI somehow, it might be possible.

I like this concept.
I thought they were so cool the first time I saw them.
I would like one to come down and work as part of my team.
Not replace a party member just be able to be used by a teammate to control.
I thought I remember seeing a while back that someone said Miranda could control one but that obviously isn't the case. It be kind of neat if you could have like Samara or Miranda use their biotics to repair and keep him going in combat.
I would surely buy it if there could be something like this to have in the form of dlc.
It kind of be like having your own Terminator.
Anything that come to Robots I find to be rather neat.

EDI also could have a part improving his combat reflexes while the mech is in combat.
