It would be a simple enough DLC to make as well, since you wouldn't have to make any dialogue for it, it follows command and is for enhancing your combat mission experience for you. The models are already there, just slap on some paint and there we are.

Sure, I'd do it. Just because I can. Like, for immersion, I'd not take anyone not wearing armor on missions where vacuum could be a threat. I'm a roleplayer really, not a FPS guru.
Be a roleplayer then. You're INHALING these security mechs by the dozen. You're facing dozens -no, hundreds- of foes. You'd have to replace your security mech constantly. It'd make no sense, it'd be impractical. It would be unreliable.
You have the elite, you wouldn't need or want a generic security mech given how much they suck.

Sure, your enemy mechs go down easily, but that doesn't rule out a special mech designed for the Normandy. It would make sense for a detail of mechs on the Normandy. They don't eat and they can remain in a storage facility and be brought out whenever they're needed leaving human personnel doing what they need to be doing managing the ship.
How can you say they don't make sense to have on any ship. They actually make more sense to have on a ship than anywhere else, apart from perhaps hostile environment stations and locations.

Wow what's with all the hate for the idea? I think it would be cool, with the proviso that it's a "heavy Mech".
roleplaying wise it's pretty simple - Customized Mech with upgraded armor and shields. Before you head down to a mission you can change it's gun arms if you so desire. Possible quests to upgrade it's armor and armaments. If it "dies" in combat, once the fighting is over you "fix" it, much the same way your companions magically get back up.
Obviously it would be a VI, (not an AI) which would be adept at making logical choices and equipped with combat programming, if devoid of actual personality. You could potentially get some sick upgrades to stick on a lumbering pile of metal, which would be fun.
Anyways,sounds like a decent idea.

I don't know if they plan on releasing any type of modding tools for this one but if they do, assuming BioWare isn't making mechs for the team, we could possibly get them that way.
