First of all: it will be long. So before I begin: sorry for the typhos, I'll make some for sure.
Hey. I thought it's time to start a topic where we gather some player feedback - in case the developing team is reading it through again, so it would be easier to gather information for them.
I'd like to ask players to give their opinions. As long as they are mature, and contstructive, anything is welcome. It's not adviseable to turn it into a whine/flame topic. That never works out and won't help improve the next game.
Please keep in mind that Mass Effect trilogy is a single player action/RPG in third person view. (So, the 'hey, let's turn it into mmo-fps will be ignored automatically. The whole idea is to make a personal experience which is tied to you. So no co-op or mmo here.). Oh, and if I can ask something personally, spare the romances, there will be (and are already) countless topics about it, everything can be found in them.
Okhey, let me begin.

From now on, everything is suggestion. No pleas, no demands, no "I don't buy the game if" threats.
And it will be long. Hehe, if the dev team decides to not gather feedback, well, then I wasted a few minutes. :)

Keep

- PC Optimalization: The team did a really nice job when it comes to optimalization, you don't have to have a powerhouse to run it on max details while the game itself looks gorgeous. Let's keep it that way. More people can play it, which also means more sales. Win for everyone.
- Interrupt system: Works out better than I imagined, adds a flavor to the conversations.
- Dynamic camera during conversations.
- Squad member side missions: The next games focus will probably be finding a way to deal with the Reapers once and for all, so I don't expect this detailed side missions for squaddies, but still, I'd prefer to see at least one or two.
- Shaping characters: Shaping the companions viewpoints on the world was a really nice addition. It was present in the first game but much deeper in the second one. Which adds something important to the role-playing aspect. Keep it all the way.
- Tactical decisions in combat: This time around I can't kill everything with anything. I have to see what I'm up against, and plan my squad, later my skill-deployment when I'm in the field itself. That's something nice, that's the bright side of the new combat system.
- References: Not only choices carried over, there were tons of hidden references to the first game. It added something more to make the game more personal.
- N7 mission flavors: Some of them feels like Spec Ops missions, some of them are investigations in a dangerous place. Never exactly the same. Keep it this way.
- Mordin. Really :)
- Lively conversations: This time around, (as we had the world set up, therefore there was rarely need for talking codex entries), conversations felt more alive. Keep it. And make more of them. More more and more conversations.
- Full-squad missions: Like in the endgame. You carry two people with yourself, but the others are working too. Working hard to keep you alive. This made me feel that, hey, it was a good idea to get all these specialists, Not just carrying them around for the show. Deploying a fire team to hold a door, and get a few seconds glimpse of their work while you capture that greedy bastard is not hard to do, and adds a taste to the mission. After all, you'll run around with at least ten members (estimation), it would be nice to see that they aren't only needed for the very end of the game.
As for the ME2 engame, it played out really nice, however it could be a bit longer. Like Ilos and the Citadel together in the first game or Virmire. Well, I'm expecting an epic battle for ME3 engame which run in parallel lines, one focus point will obviously be the Shepard Specialist Trio, but I certainly hope we can give the others work too. Which we actually see in somewhat (not minutes, only a few seconds) longer cutscenes. At any rate, keep this structure, this was the first time we really felt like Commander Shepard, not just Running Around With Two Mates Shepard.

Get rid of
- Area transitions on the Normandy: I don't mind if it loads a few seconds longer, there shall be no -obvious- area transitions in the Normandy. Even an elevator is better. Having clearly seperated desks with loading screens breaks the feeling that it's one big ship which is all mine. Instead it feels like Ship area 1, loading, ship area 2, loading, ship area 3, loading, get a new item from the locker, loading, turn in a sidequest, loading. It does no good. In elevators at least it looks like I'm in the ship.

Modify
- 5 minute missions: There were some N7 missions that could be completed in 3-5 minutes. I see the concept, they are fast-paced fights, still, it doesn't work that well. By the time we get heated up, the mission is over for a long time. If you keep this kind of missions, I'd say 10-15 mins works better. Let's take the missile launch N7 mission as an example. Maybe, sneaking up in the captured millitary complex, taking out some guards, while finding datapats, radio feeds about how damn serious the situation is, and halway down a corridor, EEEE, the alarm and the timer kicks in.
- Gear up at mission start: Add Armor customization to the options. So you could take on or off your helmets, change the armor, depending on the place you're heading to. So you don't wear the same headpiece on the Citadel as on the Collector base. Btw, and Armor locker would be wellcome in a future patch (placed in the Armory for example) in ME2, so we wouldn't have to stare at two loading screens for taking off a helmet.
- Squad chit-chat: Squadmates shall talk a bit more. Or react to their environment, events during missions. I'd love to see some squadmate-to-squadmate scenes too, how they become enemies, friends, rivals, like the two scenes in ME2 or the several ones in KotOR.

Add
- English language avaliable for every release. Come on, push EA as hard as you can. Because right now it's a joke. Right now I'm playing with an original disc combined with a pirate-download because my discs don't include the original, English texts. The tranlastions are weak, just to give you an example Illusive Man was translated to Hiding Fella (I mean the Hungarian equivalent of course). Really, I'm not joking. But the translation... It's a joke, and a damn bad one. A lot of people, a significant part of the Polish and Hungarian players prefer to play the game in English. So leave a note to the publisher: "Include English"
This time around, it cannot be called forth by running the setup.exe directly. Which workaround at least worked for the first game.
- The ME2 squadmates. I don't know what's the base idea behind the "basic Shepard", the one that new players get to play since any and every squad mate can die. It's likely that the most of us will keep some Shepards with 3-4 dead squaddies for transfer, but for the most player, their perfect Shepard will have the majority of the squaddies alive. Why? Because I didn't spend that much time to break Jack and keep her alive all the way to get a mail from her. No-no-no-no. The least is Wrex-caliber cameos for the sidekicks. One of the characters -or the majority of them, hee-hee-hee- could be even permanent squadmate. Well, I know that getting every single squadmate from the first and second game as a squaddie in ME3 along with new characters would delay the release to 2020, so I don't even mention it. :)
- (Ties with the previous suggestion): Temporary sidekicks. Like Wilson, just for a longer time. A great way to implement possibly-dead sidekicks from the second game is to give them a 90-120 minutes mission. Like bumping into Mordin in an alley, having some convos, then later getting a mission with him that we do as partners, like the old times. He's already a fan favorite from what I see. And I'd certainly wellcome Jack as a squadmate. Who knows. So the point is: Don't reduce their appearance to a two-minute conversation and an e-mail.
- Weapon customization: Some weapon warpaints maybe? I know it sounds stupid maybe, but I don't like to run aorund with a big, ugly, red stick on my right shoulder while an other, snowwhite stick is on my left shoulder. It's just cosmetics, I know, but the devil lies in the details.
- Helmet toggles for Pre-order armors. If there will be any of these pre-order bonuses again... just look at the board. It's not a big deal, but in fact, I don't use my Blood Dragon armor, as I'd like to see my character when I use him. That's why I made a face for him. For the N7 armor, we have enough options that doesn't cover the whole face, so it's okay.
- Exploration. I think you misunderstood some of the ME1 feedback. Players didn't hate exploration. They hated the Mako. No, not even the Mako. They were annoyed by the fact that you drive through the same terrain in some of uncharted planets. But you don't have to drop us right in the middle of the action. If we're raiding a mercenary base, we won't mind a one minute walking sequence, for example with a trusty Sniper Rifle and a good vantage point. For the tactical minds, it would give a chance to plan the attack. I know we'll get the Hammerhead in the next few months, but exploration itself was a core element of the first game. I'm sure you can find the golden midway.
- And the last one is a personal preference: Add Captain/Councilman/Admiral/whatever Anderson as a squad mate. We know him since the first game, followed his story in the first book, greeted him again in the second game. Something like 98% of the players love his character. He clearly doesn't enjoy his job in the Citadel, no matter what happened, and the thing is, Anderson is still one tough bastard and an excellent fighter. He is still spec-ops, only in a different uniform. Maybe he is too old compared to the young recruits, but never too old for saving the galaxy. At least consider it.

That's all for now, will add some thoughts later. Maybe.
