Prepping for the endgame. Doing everyone's loyalty quests.  Got Miranda, Jacob, Tali, and Jack so far.

But besides making them loyal.... what are those ship upgrades? What else is there? I want to make sure my crew and ship, everyone etc survives the mission.

Hmm, I can't say for certain, but I can tell you what I did.



I did all the ship upgrades, except for the scanner, pod upgrades and the med facility (so I think 1 gun upgrade, a shield and hull upgrade).



For weapon upgrades, I only upgraded shotguns and pistols 2 or 3 times, everything else I left alone. I upgraded biotic and tech damage 3 or 4 times, and for the length upgrades. I also did not get any special upgrades for specific individuals, as I did not use them. I did a couple medi-gel upgrades, along with 2 or 3 to harden shields and health.



So really, just get the upgrades that seem useful to the people you use, and the pertinent ship upgrades, combat wise. I barely did any material scanning, only half a dozen planets maybe and had enough. You really don't have to upgrade that much to make it all through.

Really? the upgrade thing scares me. I scan all these planets, get all the resources... and I don't get it.



plus squad upgrades? Don't get that either....

Talk to each of your squadmates using the investigate option. A upgrade option will be available. Some will unlock Ship upgrades, others will unlock character upgrades. You then have to research them using the terminal in the tech labs. Without these upgrades the chance of survival is low.

Only certain squad members get special upgrades, like Mordin's special omni tool and Grunts pretty new shotgun he refuses to share with me. I believe you just have to ask them about themselves once or twice to have to unlock them. Be sure to ask each squad mate on the ship about what upgrades they can do, otherwise you might not be able to see them on the list.

I didn't scan every plannet and I still got enough resources to get all the ship upgrades save for the med bay and a good chunk of the item upgrades, secound playthrough Ill get them all to see what happens.



Wish the upgraded scanner was already in the ship though... Dam that is useful.

I upgraded my grew with all their specialty items just in case, I think part of the survivabilty thing is related to who you send to do what in the final mission/squad set up. I still need to test this.

Yikes.....I guess I'll keep scanning planets and asking about the upgrades... I don't want to take forever... but I do want everyone to live
