I know this has been said before, but I didn't know to what extent text played a role.

I can barely read private messages
I can barely read journal entries
I've given up on the codex (don't always have the patience to listen to the narrator)


Some of the time I can pick out enough words to get the gist of it, but aside from that, it's just fuzzy letters merging together.


This is making me very sad.  I wasn't impressed with ME2 at first, but am starting to come around and am really enjoying it (ME1 is my fav game of all time).  However I'm stuck on an SDTV till June-ish, and not being able to read anything is seriously constricting my experience.  I'm basically running through this thing blind.  I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, I have no idea what messages are saying when they pop up, I just... I just have no idea why BioWare decided to make the text so small.  And I've read elsewhere that even on HDTV's, people are having trouble.  This is so frustrating to finally get my hands on ME2, and then get stuck with this problem.  I'm sick of getting up, walking around the coffee table, standing there squinting, moving my head up and down, and barely making out 20% of what's being shown.  Throw me a frikkin bone here!

BioWare, PLEASE please work on a patch for this.  I'm starting to love ME2, but with this small text, I can't even play the thing properly.

Yes, I have a similar problem and I am nearsighted and I have HDTV and still have difficulty reading the small print. Its like this game was designed for a pc which I am sure I could read the small print better. Otherwise, I think this game is great!

It says on the back of the box HDTV 720p/1080i/1080p... just saying.

It gets easier to read as the game goes on. It did for me aynway.

I know how you feel, I have exactly the same problem. At least you plan on getting a HDTV some time in the future, and you can't forget planet descriptions, those are impossible to make out most of the time.

Trust me on a HDTV it is not any better I honestly think its smaller.

32" HDTV here and I still have a hard time reading the text. =/ From the posts on the technical forums it looks like they are considering a patch for the text, but nothing concrete yet.

If you have an LCD monitor for say your computer, grab the conversion cable from Walmart and see if that helps.

Well that's some good news at least.


Thanks guys, Im' getting the new TV as a wedding present in June, so until then we're putting all our money towards that so other purchases are out of the question.

I totally feel for you man. I play on a 32" SDTV, and the combination of orange hues+ small text makes it impossible to read. I have a hard time getting comfortable enough to play, and my eyes are getting bloodshot from the non-stop playing, and having to get so close to the TV. I kinda wish ?I would've picked up the PC version.

I was wondering if I was the only one. Yeah even the dialogue options are hard to read on my giant tv. The ones in ME one were fine. I thought I was just getting old.

Good to know other's have the same problem. I didn't have any problem in ME either. I really agree that part of the problem is the color. A patch would be nice.

If anyone is unaware, I've been following the thread below in the 360 tech forum. We've gotten a response from a dev and they seem to be aware of it, but said not to expect anything "in the near future"
