So, the newest pc gamer comes with a dragon age module, but it's in a self extracting zip file instead of a .dazip file, so the dragon age updater won't recognize it to install.  I tried changing the file extension of the file to .dazip and that didn't work.

My question is, what folders should the file be extracted to to work properly?

Or, is there a way to get the mod to actually install through the updater?

There is a manifest.xml in the main folder, then a contents folder that has an addins folder and a packages folder.  In the addins fiolder there is a pc_gamer_tale folder that has core and module folders inside it.  In the packages folder there are also core and data folders.

@ xphenomenom - unfortunately there is no dazip file, which is what prompted the original question, thanks though.

Try to unpack self-extracted archive, then pack it into simple .zip and rename extentision to .dazip

I think it's PC Gamer's fail.

11/5/2009 1:25 PM - Install Error for: C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\modules\\DAO.Orzammar.dazip, Error: Couldn't load manifest file (could be bad dazip archive)

your manifest.xml must be in the root of the archive (I mean not in any subfolders).. look at the official promo dazip content: http://i35.tinypic.com/5xv2c9.png

Alright after copying the xml file into the contents folder, then making a zip file out of that folder and renaming it to a .dazip file, it finally installed and shows under the other campaigns section.

Thanks for the help
