Well, I don't know if this has been covered, but I would like to figure this out. I have been playing Mass Effect without problem until I get to Zorya (planet for Zaeed's quest). Now every time I try to land on Zorya, I encounter the disc unreadable error. I cleaned the disc the first time, used the second disc on my next attempt and cleared the cache. I deleted the Zaeed dlc and reinstalled it. I even deleted my first play through (no big deal only 1hour in) in case the problem was with corrupted save or something. None of these worked. I am certain the problem isn't with the disc and I think it lies with the DLC. Is there away to get around this while still being able to keep Zaeed? Is Zaeed even an interesting addition to ME2? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Disc Undreadable at same point

Are you on the 360? Have you tried installing Mass Effect 2 on your hard drive to see if that helps?

Oh I forgot to mention, I am playing on the Xbox 360. I also did install to the hard drive, but that made it so I got the disc unreadable at the start screen, as opposed to just when I try to land on Zorya.

It corrupted my profile, which I had to delete and restart, which lost all my save games. Fantastic. Still won't start.

i have the same problem. playing on 360, right when i got the "loyalty" missions. Now everytime I try and go to the bottom level of my ship it gives me the error, OR when I try to return to Omega to get Zaeed. It loads and seems to get right about to where its going to play and bam, dirty disc error. Ive read alot and some people are saying that its the optical drive going out. that would be sad. BUT i dont think it is, because of this... I traded discs at game stop, still happened in the SAME spot. so i thought well maybe its my xbox. nope. tried on my roommates box and still, same thing. It very well may be the DLC. ill try that and see if it helps at all.

well, i deleted the Zaeed DLC, and now I can't load my game because the DLC: Zaeed is missing. Awesome. Now redownloaded the DLC, to see if my game even starts.

Having a similar problem. I finished the recruiting mission on the junkyard planet, got back to the ship and my 360 started grinding and I got the dirty disc. I've tried other games, so I know it isn't the optical drive dying, so I too think it must be something from the game or the dlc.
I've tried all the same things as stated above (except I wasn't even able to install the game to my HD bc it couldn't read the disc after about 9%) and none of them worked. Guess I don't really have more to add to the topic, just venting I guess...

Same thing is happening to me. Every time I go to a certain section of Zaeed's loyalty mission I get the disc unreadable. Cleared cache, deleted and redownloaded the Zaeed dlc, tried a friends disc. Nothing fixes the problem. I'm of the opinion that the Zaeed dlc is just a steaming pile. I hope that it hasn't screwed up a later section of the game, since I am forced to load an older save and just forgo doing Zaeed's mission.

Ok. By deleting the Zaeed dlc and re-clearing my cache at the same time, then re downloading the Zaeed dlc , it seems to be working *fingers crossed, knock on wood*
