I too am probably not really allowed to play (see sig for my true loyalties), but I am loving Leliana. I thought she was going to be too cutesy-sweet for me, but actually she has quite a bit of bite to her under the sweetness.

Morrigan is hilarious, and of course she's more important to the story, but in truth she'd be a pain to hang out with -- always trying to score points and one-up whoever she's talking with. Not my style.

Morrigan: she comes across as haughty and headstrong, but deep inside, she's a fragile, sad little thing, and I find that very attractive. That and her taunting cleavage, truth be told.

Leliana: *yawn*. Reminds me of Imoen.

I have completed the Leliana romance, and i am in the process of completing Morrigan's(we already knocked boots).

I am going to go with Leliana on this. While i do tend to like women who take control like Morrigan, it's a battle to get her to that place in time. I don't like battles. Don't get me wrong, i understand the upbringing and how it affected her, but having her tell me it's not about love and then all of a sudden let's get it on....nah, no thanks. That's the kind of woman i expect will be eventually asking me what the hell i'm still doing there in the morning because she feels like it.

Leliana has the experience, yet she still believes in love...now that's my kind of girl(as long as she's been visiting the clinic, that is;)). I'd really only expect being shown the door only because i deserved it.

It comes down to an uphill fight to get a chance(Morrigan) vs. being given a fighting chance from the start(Leliana). Hmm, no brainer for me.

I was looking to see if anyone else posted this and was surprised when I didn't see it.  To me this is like the pinnacle question for any male characters unless of course you wanna go gay with zevran.   I wouldn't judge you but it's not my thing.  So the question remains whose the better GF Morrigan or Leliana, and it is a tough question.  Each has there charms.  Leliana is a red head and I have a huge thing for redheads, but Morrigan has the goth girl look going and I have an equally huge thing for goth girls.  As far as personality goes leliana is a bit of a simpleton certainly not stupid, but Morrigan is complex and constantly has an agenda of her own.
I think when it comes down to it I'd choose morrigan she'd make everything an adventure.  Plus she's going to SPOILER--SPOILER--SPOILER--SPOILER--SPOILER--SPOILER.

Thanks a lot for being such an inconsiderate (censored)!

Leliana, of course. Morrigan is evil, selfish and short-sighted, though at least she has some funny party banter and is somewhat pretty. I've never really found out what men see in these "bad girls" like Morrigan. Maybe they like being dumped after outliving their usefulness for the woman.

Morrigan is great as a party member in battles...but i don't like  her sarcastic remarks when i try to help someone....ie: the two young lovers at the dalish camp....the chantry board...etc.
Leliana is adorable. as well as being a great back stabber and archer (if you make her that way) she is also a lovely girl. I am also female but even without much trying the two of us grew fond of each other as the game progressed and now we are lovers :) Posted Image
I have never felt this way about any character in any computer game like i have with Leliana.
Thanks Bioware...all the dialogue in the game with whoever it is is superb...except for Morrigans sarcastic remarks.

Does anyone know if Morrigan will return in the coming expansions (after DA:A)? I definitely would pick Morrigan if I knew she'd make an appearance later in the series. If not, I'd choose Leliana since it's almost confirmed she'll be a playable party member in the expansion.

Wouldn't you prefer a more spontaneous choice based only on your tastes? :)
By the way.. Neither of them will probably be playable in xpac so you can make your choice based of what kind of woman you like :)

Not sure where you got that confirmation from but I haven't heard anything about Leliana being a playable party member in the expansion... However if I remember correctly some Bioware representative did say that Morrigans story was not over, what that means for the upcoming expansion and when her story will be continued no one besides Bioware knows...

Leliana was oh-so boring with her maker, maker this, maker that, talking all day long about the beauty in the world, her naivity, her fanaticism of andraste, she was always talking about things which most certainly did not even exist!  Her vision, the maker, her version of andraste....
Every time I talked with her I got sick and felt like having a bad sugar rush....on the other hand I needed her to unlock chests and doors.  Awkward.  I never liked bards anyway, especially friendly bards.

I was close to ripping my ears off as she started babbling after helping those two elves in the dalish camp. No no thank you, thats enough.

Morrigan on the other hand was mysterious, interesting, a difficult person, challenging, she always provided interesting conversation & information; I really liked her sarcasm and her unwillingness to compromise.
I mostly agreed with her point of view of things.

She wasnt nearly as shallow as most other companions, in my opinion she was the most interesting companion since the drow Viconia from Baldurs Gate II.

But Viconia near the end of the game changed her character and became if not good at least less evil... She changed her nature and she decided to try to live with you... 'Til her tragic end (very sad !!!).

With Morrigan things goes in a bit different way (I may not explane becuase this is a no-spoiler forum)

Well they say you'll be allowed to choose one favorite companion who will accompany you in DA:A. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm a Leliana guy myself. I've explained this before elsewhere so I won't repeat all the reasons, but Leliana is just about everything I'm looking for in a woman. I want a Leliana plushie so very much. Plus that voice is just the voice of a goddess.

They're both such damaged goods, in truth they're both horrible choices. Which, of course, makes them awesome for a darkly dramatic story like DA:O.

In the end? Keep in mind that Morrigan can change into a Dire Spider mid-coitus if she's sufficiently irritated at you. That is reason to take a long, slow pause about just how snuggly you want to get with her.

There is nothing the Darkspawn could do to you that would compare to that sort of trama, physical or emotional.

Just play a mage shapeshifter yourself and if she changes you just follow suit.Posted Image

In all seriousness I think that both of them a batty and I would much rather have had a 3rd option (and no Zev doesn't count for me).  Given a choice just between the two I would say Leliana.

Morrigan is actually very weak in many ways for all of her talk about strength and power.  Lel is damaged goods too, and goofy, but she comes off as stronger overall than Morrigan in terms of mental health.

I've also got to admit that I actually LOLed the first time when Morrigan lauched into her "My tent is sooo cold." thing out of the blue.  I must have woken up the whole house.  That line was so lame (and also yet another indicator of how weak she really is).

sry about doing two posts but just wanted to elaborate. Morrigan makes love an adventure. Sure Leliana would love you to death and settle down and make babies, and I don't blame you if that's what you want but think of the adventure of Morrigan. Morrigan is a fairly ****y and scheming woman, but I like her for her scheming because you have to have plans within plans about the possibilities of what could happen with her, her baby, and Flemeth. Ever since she asked me to kill flemeth and do the ritual with her I've been doing nothing but thinking about just what exactly is in store and there's a hundred and one possiblities that I couldn't begin to put down because I've already gone on too long about how awesome her side story is. You can't deny that that air of myster she has about her makes her at least a little attractive romantically

Neither. Just do them both and get it out of your system. Also kiss every girl you can in front of them to prove you are a pimp. A Grey Warden cannot be tied down.

can't pick between them, one has a wicked accent and is cute, the other is the voice of Claudia Black in the body of a scantily clad witch.

Both were fun to romance and talk to, both were supremely useful in game and both went through great character development.

If i had known that Lothering was going to get massacred i would not have left the first time without finding her.

Leliana ... I love her accent and I love bards in general - her passion for stories and her singing are both very attractive. Also, she isn't really the good girl she's trying to be, with the mysterious past as a spy and assassin behind her. I really wish I could have learned more about her backstory.

Morigan is alright, but not really my cup of tea ... at least not with the characters I've played thus far ... my evil mage or warrior types will probably like her more.
