you get a choice to kill one or the other, any difference between the 2? or is it a matter of renagade or pargon that makes the difference? i play the paragon, so im assuming i should kill morinth.

They have some different skills, and obviously different storylines.

I was disappointed that I didn't even get a choice. The dialogue wheel never came up. Shepard just grabbed Morinth's arm. Maybe I was too paragon.

Odd, I was 100% Paragon at this point and I still got the option. (Wierdly the sound cut out during it.)

Morinth's skill is basically AI hack for organics, which seems more useful to me than Reave. But I like Samara, I don't want to get rid of her.

I'm going through with a fresh character - I intend to take Morinth with me the first play through, then Samara the second. I hope I can choose dominate as a bonus power...

Dominate is awesome, so I went with Morinth.

If the ME wiki is indeed correct morinth is a pseudo-romance option.

..pseudo because she KILLS YOU as a result. Mind murder and all that.

To be fair, it is probably worth it. Though I'd put it off until just after ME3's main mission.

Sound cut out for me too. I kinda skipped that cutscene by accident. I didn't actually know there was a choice.

You need enough points in paragon or renegade to resist Morinth twice.  You also may need some renegade, or at least to pick renegade choices to make her extremely attracted to you?  I'm not sure how much persuasion or percentage of either is required, but it's probably pretty high. At that point, Samara rushes in and you get an extremely clear choice on the dialogue wheel. If you don't have high enough paragon/renegade or choose non-persuasion options, then you don't get the choice.

Yeah, sound cut out for me as well, and no dialogue options came up.

Y'know, I love these games, I really do, but BioWare games are the buggiest, glitchiest, most unpolished games I have ever played. You'd think with all the complaints people had about the first ME's issues, they;d be extra careful with this one. So I guess it's a trade-off? Instead of constant texture pop-in, we now have to deal with glitchy cinematics?

Anyway . . . if I actually do manage to play through the game one of these days with that scene NOT ****ing up on me, perhaps I'll be able to give a better opinion on this topic. As of now, I've been forced to choose Samara due to this bug. *shakes head in disbelief*.

Have you played the Fallout series? Or Oblivion?

OK... so is there a story line consequence of choosing Morinth? Will she be loyal?

I think I'll save her for my renegade play.

Offed Morinth, didn't feel bad about it. I also see myself doing it again on other play throughs. She's dangerous, to dangerous for even my Renegade Shep to accept.

Had not trouble...of course I also downloaded the game to my harddrive. Maybe you people need to just suck it up and INSTALL!

As for the actual choice...well at the end of the scene you basically pick which one lives. Morinth says something like "I'm as strong as she is, help me and I'll join your team." Something like that and Samara replies with something of equal measure.

The only thing that's weird is...has anyone actually chose Morinth over Samara and went to the suicide mission?

The only difference is when you visit her on the Normandy, she dresses and talks like herself, everywhere else is like it never happened, as far as I saw. I even picked her to be the biotic shield in my second ending and it played out the same. So it really doesn't matter, until Mass Effect 3 of course.

I never got an option on who to kill. I have a feeling it's because I didn't choose a Charm/Renegade option, I just chose "Can't.... Think...."

See why couldn't they do a romance with Samara as well? I found her character extremely intriguing. And she's a  freaking powerful biotic. I hope she carries over into the next game and that there's a possible romance outlet for her.

Well besides the fact that any offspring would be succubabies, I think she is an example of someone who has reached Self-Actualization and no longer requires or even wants the intimacy that comes with romance. Srsly look up Self-Actualization and the qualities of it describe Samara very well.

So I am actually glad she didn't turn into a sex doll for Shepard to rub his manmeat on.

Also after getting to Samara's loyal quest a second time on a renegade game. The only reason to take Morinth over Samara from a common sense perspective, is because Samara is likely going to kill you once the mission is over. And out of all the party members, I think Samara is the only one who could actually take my Shepard.

I never even got the choice. I don't know why, that's just odd.
