I never even got the choice. I don't know why, that's just odd.

You need charm / intimidate to resist her advances during the seduction. That's when she gets curious about who you are and that's when she is willing to try to get you to help her.

Does anyone know if Morinth is an actual romance? I reloaded a save and talked to her a bit and she seems to think Shepard would have a chance of surviving her deathsexmeld.

Yeah, sound cut out for me as well, and no dialogue options came up.

Y'know, I love these games, I really do, but BioWare games are the buggiest, glitchiest, most unpolished games I have ever played. You'd think with all the complaints people had about the first ME's issues, they;d be extra careful with this one. So I guess it's a trade-off? Instead of constant texture pop-in, we now have to deal with glitchy cinematics?...

Have you played the Fallout series? Or Oblivion?

Yes, and neither have given me near as much trouble as BioWare games.

....Srsly? I've got both Kotors, ME, ME2 from Bioware. Total bugs from those four games equaled, MAYBE Fallout.  Oblivion was whole 'nother mess.

I had to install numerous mods that myself and others made just to fix half the crap in FO3.

I melded with Morinth after the mission and was rewarded with an instant death. It was quite hilarious.

Or Cyrostasis, or any Russian/Czech/eastern european game.

First of all, KotOR 2 wasn't a BioWare game.

Now, on to the other games you listed . . .

Oblivion hasn't given me much trouble at all. Maybe one broken quest Visually, never jittered, had laggy textures or sound issues. Fallout 3 was just a crappy game, but no technical issues, really. Everything went smoothly. Of course, I played the console versions of those games, not the PC versions, so maybe that had some bearing on it? You'd think the PC versions would run better, though.

On the other hand, there is Mass Effect 1, 2 and Dragon Age. The first ME suffered from all kinds of visual hiccups that have never been fixed, in patches or otherwise, several glitches that hinder the gameplay experience at times, even going as far as causing the player to reset the game. Dragon Age was pretty clean for the most part, at least during my experience with it, but Mass Effect 2 now has the worst issues thus far. Absolutely terrible sound issues that include entire sound dropout on more than one occasion, dialogue either canceling itself out or becoming muted completely (Can't tell you how many times I was happy I chose to include subtitles. Otherwise I would have missed a lot of the storyline!), broken quests, missing dialogue options, an inaccurate autosave feature, incorrect ME 1 carryover (the Conrad Verner issue everybody seems to be having), etc.

I'm honestly not trying to ****, here, but these games are so GREAT in every other aspect, I just wish they would run smoothly as promised. Is that too much to ask?

NO Reports so far Morinth romance kills Shepard. Have a save before you try.

I cant believe you die trying to romance Morinth, lol. I have a full renegade bar and she kills me everytime time. She was loyal during the final mission and my Shep even grab her from falling instead of Maranda. Maybe in Me3?

If you have enough paragon/renegade points, and want to have a choice between Samarra and Morinth, you need to choose the blue/red responses when you are in Morinth's apartment.

If you choose Morinth, she kills Samarra and says that she is a 'dead ringer' for her mother. She puts on her mother's clothes and jewelry, and changes her voice to imitate Samarra. No one else on your crew knows the truth - Also saves BW from adding more VA lines! I used Morinth in the final mission exactly where I would use Samarra, for the biotic field, and she gave the identical performance.

Hope that info helps.

In order to be able to choose, you must resist her mind control I think.

Morinth will finally take you up on your "offer" to bed her once you have completed the game. Just go talk to her and choose the "you must be lonely" chat option and she will then offer to give you the meaning of ultimate pleasure. You do get a choice to back out ...but if you do take her up on it, she does goad you (or taunt you if you prefer) by stroking your ego to convince you its worth the risk. Her smile when she says "Embrace eternity" though, is just murderously creepy. You die as a result of the joining.

Ps : Reave isn't useless, and I do think its better then dominate as it'll usually one shot shields off most targets even on insane mode. That and that it heals you while the effect is active. Can't say how many times that particular trick, first dropping shields of a target then popping reave and taking it out with gunfire while taking hits but getting healed faster then the enemy can do damage has got me through insanity mode with alot less "reloads" then when I had other powers on. The beauty is that it works on both organics and mechs (takes out a YMIR mech with about 2-3 Reaves + gunfire after you have taken its shields and armor down) though you only get healed if you pop reave on an organic target. Best used on organics though, since its other side effect is to also stun the target for a short time, more then enough to pop out of cover and machine gun it down.

I just wanted to add that if you want to unlock 'Dominate' as a bonus power, you can recruit Morinth and then reload - it stays unlocked. It might have been unlocked before that but I didn't notice

For RP save Samara seriously. Morinth has like 10 lines or so. Usefulness i would say that Samara is better except on insanity, since reave isn't that good on insanity imo. I always save Morinth on my renegade Shepards though and since i always play insanity i find her better.

lol, exactly the same stuff was going on in my head during that seen. I was a bit disappointed because it seemed like an obvious choice making scene, but then shep made the choice for me.

I prefer Morinth. My Paragon was at her mercy, my Renegade was OK though (resisted her and could select red dialogue choice).

I prefer Samara... but to those who don't know how. you need maximum Paragon or renegade to choose, basically if you can say any of the last special lines - like suprise after she tries to dominate you. Then she worries and samara atttacks her, with high enough points they get stuck and you choose.

Romancing Samara should be about as appealing as romancing Wynn. Sure she's got a banging body, but what does she get out of it? Shepard must seem like a whelp to her. She's 1000 years old. Worst case scenario, she has sex with Shepard and mothers another Ardat-Yakshi... but with Shepard's DNA.

Even as a Renegade I can't think of an RP reason to take an unpredictable murderer aboard instead of someone who's sworn loyalty to me. So, she dies.

Now that's a scarey thought...

According to Samara, only Purebloods can get the genetic defect to become Ardat-Yakshi, so no amount of her fooling around with Shepard, or any other non-asari, should produce one.
