I wanted to activate my extra content for ME 2, and it says I need an account at EA.com (ea.co.nz in my case). I wasn't sure if this account at the Bioware boards would work so I tried to log in with this email address and it says it cannot find account. So I figure ok I just need to make a new one. So I registered with the same email address and password and logged in.

Then I went to masseffect and clicked the redeem code link and found myself here at bioware on my current Phil5000 account. So now I'm confused. I thought I'd just created a totally new account. Do I need a seperate EA account or will this one do for both?

I went back to EA.co.nz to see if I could delete the account I just made and it keeps saying it has no record. But I go to EA.com and I can log in ok, but since I used the same email address I don't know which account it is.

Ok so I guess I stuffed that all up for myself. I'm just wondering what I should do. Do I have two accounts or just the one? Do I NEED a seperate Bioware and EA account? Why can I log into EA.com but not EA.co.nz?

Thanks heaps.

As long as you used the same email address you should be fine. When you created your Bioware account you created an EA account with the same email address. If you can log into both EA.com and here with the same email address and password you are probably good to go.

Just make sure the correct email is showing up on the http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php page.

I have heard that the regional EA sites aren't always on the same account system, but its the EA.com account you need.

Thanks. The correct address is showing up. What adds to the confusion is when you create an account or login it uses your email address not your user name.

What I think I did when I created the new account at EA just now was create a new persona, but I still have just one account. I hope so anyway.

To add to the confusion... now I can log into EA.co.nz as well. I have no idea why I couldn't before.

Anyway I think I'm ok. I'll try to redeem the codes now and see what happens.

Thanks again.

Similar issue with me at the moment. Registered a new account for here and didn't realise I was suppose to use my existing EA account, which is linked to my Xbox Live account. Short of abandoning this account and using the old one to register, is there anyway to merge the two?

To merge accounts/transfer content you need to contact EA Support

Hmm... I haven't actually done anything yet with this account, short of contacting a few old friends. Considering whether I should just delete this one and register my old existing EA account.

Thanks the help, Kepha.

I used my cerberus network unlock code on my xbox 360 copy of mass effect 2. After this I couldn't download the extra content as I am under 18 (you can only get dlc on xbox live if you are over 18), my dad tried on his account using my ea login details so cerberus should already be unlocked. However it wasn't and when he tried to purchase it xbox live said it isn't available at this time.

This is sort of related, I can't register my inferno armour. The instructions say to go to masseffect.com follow the link to redeem your code (which takes me to the page kepha linked to) and enter the code. The correct email address and gamertag are listed but when I enter the code I get no response received from remote server.

Is anyone else having this problem?

i am having a some what similar problem, i didnt know/see/read the warning saying you need to use the email thats linked to your xbox live account. and i used my personal email for my account and entered code, now my ME2 CE Collectors armor code is linked to a account with no gamertag. I went to xbox.com and changed my email on my gamertag to the one i used. No i noticed that the account i made here dosent have a gamer tag linked to it. so maybe all is not lost and if some one could tell me how to link my gamer tag to this account

It turns out you are not supposed to enter the dashes.
