 Hello--

The orange notification windows that pop up in the lower right hand corner disappear much faster than I can read them (they appear for on average 1 second). This seriously needs to be addressed soon. Thank you!

Or some of them aren't appearing at all, as many people have reported with morality changes not appearing.

I'd like to +1 that.

Sometimes they just flash by and I have no idea whats going on, would like an option to either slow it or make it so I need to press a button to confirm.

Could be a difficulty setting thing, i just finished a casual playthrough and had about 20 secs to hit it. skipped most of them since they were "evil".

Little sad over my lack of good convo choices

I don't think they are talking about the Interuption actions, but the boxs that pop up that says "+7500 Credits" and stuff about weapons, etc. Also, You can read them at the end of a mission (If its Weapon/Research Info).

Definitely agree with that sentiment.

oh those, why do you need to read them? you can see how many credits you earn when hacking something and you should know what else you getting when you select the item

they last about 3-5 secs for me

some last long enough, but most only last 1-2 seconds--esoecially if there are multiple coming in at the same time. id like to know why i got credits, how many renegade points i received, journal updates, etc etc.

this might sound rude, but i really dont intend to be.

journal is there for a reason.

on average its between 4 and 6, sometimes 11, 16 and at one point 33.

u normally get creds for opening something, finishing an assignment or bug (rare).

^ yes, i am aware of all of those things. but there are other notification topics i didnt list. and secondly, i would like to have all the specifics of an event without having to go track down how many i have now versus how much i had before (to find out what the increase was). problem is, the notifications disappear too fast, an issue thats outstanding regardless of your game knowledge.

only other thing i could think of is when you find resources or codex which is normally pointless info unless your bored or want to see it.

research you just gotta remember what was for.

a quick look at the name or pic and the 1st line of text should tell you what it was for and what you got

im not against making it stay longer btw.

I simply can't read as fast as the notices fly by. It seems the more notices are in cue, the faster they scroll. The ME1 system was better.

lern 2 reed fastur! :D

lol. I know, I know, totally unhelpful and rude. I just couldn't help myself.

But yeah, there should be a way to control the amount of time those stay up on the screen.

Yeah, let's all make fun of the guy with the learning disability.  I'm reporting both of you.

I'd be happy if it were at least logged somewhere. I started up the game, and while sitting at the galaxy controls just barely noticed something about new or improved planet scanner and it was gone. Searched the Journal, Codex -- zippo. nada. zilch. nothing. space dust.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but is there still no solution for making the notifications last longer? I recently started playing ME2 and I find this issue almost unbearable. I don't even know what I'm looting or what it is used for because I can't barely make out one word before the window disappear. I would believe something should have been done by now as more than a year has gone since the release.

Edit: Oh I noticed now this thread is in the 360 forums. I should mention I'm playing on a PC, I hope it okay anyway.

Can't say I have had a problem with this, but I would say that it seems rather unlikely that BioWare will do anything with regards to this. I am, however, rather oblivious to the sort of patches they have made for ME2.

I too just started playing this game & the notifications flash by so fast i googled it & this thread popped up 1st...its infuriating & my ocd-ness wants to reload a game just to try to read them! Even in the openning cut scene there was crucial text that i didnt finish reading so i restarted the game & had to TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SCREEN so i could read it!!!! LOL!! Seriously, the notifications should stay longer, have an adjustable time option, &/or have them all logged or at least the recent ones. SERIOUSLY!! Bioware, NONE of your game-testers brought this issue up?? They're all freaking speed readers or somethin :/

I totally agree. I am playing this game on the PS3 and it is absolutely ridiculous how short the notifications are shown. I can only assume you are not supposed to try to read them. Hopefully later in the game you will get used to them and will be able to recognize what is happening without needing to read those flashes.

The intro text can be looked up on the internet (as the large majority of the interested players probably had to do) but the flashing notifications related to your own gameplay are totally lost if you do not recognize them within a tenth of a second...

I'm having the same problem...on PC. I can't read half of them because they disappear so fast. Is there any way to make them stay longer? Some .ini edit?

I would suggest you ask the question on the PC tech board for obvious reasons.
